We do believe it's the ultimate 90's supercars. So good looking!! It really did exceed out expectation as it was our 1st time behind the wheel of a Diablo. The sound that V12 is exhilarating and the feedback from the car is "give me more" it wants to be driven. See paragraphs down below for history on this incredible vehicle.

The Lamborghini Diablo is a high-performance mid-engine sports car that was built by Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini between 1990 and 2001. It is the first production Lamborghini capable of attaining a top speed in excess of 320 kilometres per hour (200 mph). After the end of its production run in 2001, the Diablo was replaced by the Lamborghini Murciélago. The name Diablo' means "devil" in Spanish.f you enjoyed this video, please like, share and subscribe! We look forward to bringing you more reviews on exclusive cars.

At a time when the company was financed by the Swiss-based brothers Jean Claude and Patrick Mimran, Lamborghini began development of what was codenamed Project 132 in June 1985 as a replacement for the Countach, Lamborghini's then flagship sports car. The brief stated that the top speed of the new car had to be at least 315 km/h (196 mph).[3]

The design of the car was contracted to Marcello Gandini, who had designed its two predecessors. When Chrysler Corporation bought the company in 1987, funding the company to complete the car's development, its management was uncomfortable with Gandini’s designs and commissioned its design team in Detroit to execute a third extensive redesign, smoothing out the infamous sharp edges and corners of Gandini's original design, and leaving him famously unimpressed. In fact, Gandini was so disappointed with the "softened" shape that he would later realise his original design in the Cizeta-Moroder V16T.

The Diablo was presented to the public for sale on 21 January 1990. Its power came from a 5.7 L (348 cu in) dual overhead cam, 4 valves per cylinder version of the existing V12 engine and computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producing a maximum output of 492 PS (362 kW; 485 bhp) and 580 N⋅m (428 lbf⋅ft) of torque. The vehicle could reach 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in about 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). The Diablo was rear-wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance.

The Diablo came better equipped than the Countach; standard features included fully adjustable seats and steering wheel, electric windows, an Alpine stereo system, and power steering from 1993 onwards. Anti-lock brakes were not initially available, although they would eventually be used. A few options were available, including a custom-molded driver's seat, remote CD changer and subwoofer, rear spoiler, factory fitted luggage set (priced at $2,600) and an exclusive Breguet clock for the dash (priced at $10,500).

In 1995, Diablo was used as the Safety Car in Formula OneThe new car was named Diablo, carrying on Lamborghini's tradition of naming its cars after breeds of fighting bulls. The Diablo was named after a ferocious bull raised by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century, famous for fighting an epic battle with 'El Chicorro' in Madrid on 11 July 1869. In the words of Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the Diablo was designed "solely to be the biggest head-turner in the world. (Written description provided by Wikipidia)

Greatest Lambo ever. Exquisite, beauty from every angle. Personally my fav versions are the SV (Need for Speed 3 Hot Pursuit all day) and the 2001 6.0 VT. Lambos now have become to commercialized, the company only cares for monetary gains instead of creating iconic legends like the Diablo.
  • Lamborghini was owned by Chrysler at the time El Diablo was released. So we can say that Lee Iacocca saved Lamborghini the company with this car.

Dear Gaston, well done. The production was very good and the emotion of driving the car came through. A white Diablo in Miami is very romantic and cool. All the best.

Nothing will EVER compare to the supercars of the 90s. And IMO there is nothing more elegant and luxuriously sporty (AND MIAMI NIGHTLIFE) than a white Countach, Diablo and or Lotus Esprit SE. As for 'spoiler or no spoiler' question, that's a tough one for me. I like it equally the same way. I'd not complain if I was given one either way 😂

I love the Diablo VT with flip up lights...and rear wing;) Thank you for this video. I agree with you, that the Diablo will be going up in value.

This car is now $300k in 2024. Good call on the pricing going up. Back in 2019/2020, this was half of that
  • For me Diablo was and always will be THE Lamborghini. Ultimate sports car of the 90’s. :)

My 15 year old dream back in 1990... Still is at 45..first lambo to go over 200..and have all wheel drive..hence sv. If I had the money I'd rather have a 2001 6.0 sv over any new lamborghini or Ferrari...except testarossa another dream of My youth.lol.😁

Beautiful! To this day, the Diablo is still my all-time favorite exotic. I've always wanted a 1999 - 2000 Diablo SV or GT, but unfortunately, I don't fit inside of them very well. I'm 6'5" weigh 280 lbs and wear a size 16 shoe.
