Growing up as a Graham, Accepting Your Calling and Leaving a Powerful Legacy – with Franklin Graham

Published 2024-06-18
What do you want your legacy to be? For the past five years, I’ve shared about what it means to live fearlessly for your faith in a world that wants to destroy Biblical values. I’ve been able to do this because of the godly legacy that my grandparents and parents have passed down – that God is faithful to those who never compromise the Gospel.

Today, my dad, Franklin Graham, is joining me to answer questions I’ve never asked him before about his life, what he wants his legacy to be, his relationship with his parents, and how God changed his life 50 years ago in Israel.

Thank you for being a part of the #FearlessPodcast whether this is your first episode or you’ve been along for this journey for the last five years. I hope we can continue the conversations we have, helping you have a fearless faith in a compromising culture.

  • I’m now 76 and from the UK. At 33, as an unbeliever, I read your granddad’s book, How to be Born Again, and by the end of the book , I was a believer and praise the Lord , I’m still going on! My pastors wife, her mother and sister got saved at one of his crusades, and 8 years later, so did her husband. So a small church in the Manchester area of England is still going strong today because of your granddaddy. ❤ What a Mighty God we serve ❤

Hi Cissie, I am 72 years old. In 1968 at the age of 16, I went forward at the Brisbane, Australia Billy Graham Crusade. A milestone in my life. In 1979 I was a worker at the Sydney, Australia Billy Graham Crusade. Can’t recall the year but I recall seeing your Dad preach in Brisbane in the 90s. Heard your Brother, Will Graham preach in Brisbane several years ago in Brisbane and on the 29th June I’ll be going to hear Will preach on the Gold Coast here in Australia. You have a wonderful family legacy and I am forever thankful for Billy’s 1968 Brisbane, Australia Crusade.

What a wonderful show this was between Cissy Graham and her exceptional father, Franklin Graham. This whole family has been a blessing to so many, including me, through the years. May God continue to bless each of them as they continue to spread His gospel around the world. I loved "Daddy Bill" as Cissy called him and look forward to many more years of prosperity for Franklin and his organizations. Thank you so much for doing this, Cissy. 🙏🙏

My wife and I were privileged to volunteer at Samaritans Purse for a summer. As a retired Navy Engineering Officer it was such a Blessing. Especially morning devotions. Always used to say " If you saw Franklin with a tie on, you knew it wasn't his first choice"

Hi Cissie, May the Lord bless you and your brother Will, along with your father Franklin, and your aunt, Anne Graham Lotz as you all continue to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Do Not be afraid of the criticism that you get from other people who don't believe like we believe in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that God will continue to bless all of your ministries together through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit as you all continue to proclaim the Good News of Jesus. I came to the Lord at 9 years old and rededicated my life to Jesus when I was 14 or 15 years old when your Grandfather Billy spoke at the Cow Palace in San Francisco during both times. My Brother Orv got saved when your Grandfather Billy spoke at the Civic Light Opera Auditorium early in his ministry at that time🙏🙏🙏

Dear Cissie, On 5/15/1957, my 14th birthday, while at the Billy Graham Crusade at the Old Madison Square Garden in NYC, after confessing my sins, I received the Permanent Endwelling of The Holy Spirit, and a Supernatural Experience of a warm, almost hot, heavy oil like Filling from my feet upward. The sermon was Isaiah 6, where I said, 'Here Am I, send me.' . From 1984-1998, I lived in a 1948 old Chevy School Bus, the Lord had me paint red and black Scripture on it, turning it into The Holy Bible Bus. From 1984-1998, He had me travel the USA and British Columbia, holding services and talking about Salvation, mostly at Rest Areas and Truck Stops. Father God has never left me. He's been ever faithful. I am now 81 and still thriving in Him. HalleluJAH! Now And Forever More! More!
  • You got me crying at the end when you got choked up. What a wonderful interview with your Dad and what a wonderful legacy of faith in the Graham family! You should do an interview with your Mom now to get her perspective on everything. Keep up the good work you are doing for the Kingdom! ❤️🙌🙏
  • I am listening from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 with great joy, blessing and tears loving Billy Graham as Global Evengelist to hear Grand Daughter and Father exploring legacy of Graham History. I visited Graham Property during the 2018/19 Christmas Eve when I was on his and wife Grave site praying and thanking God for their lives in the Ministry. I also met the tall Arther Graham in the house were Billy was raised on the Dairy Farm and enjoyed few minutes talking with Arther Graham son of Billy's elder brother. Love you all till we live with Christ here on earth exploring all histories during Jesus Christ Millennium Kingdom Rule on Earth 🌎 ....... very Soon. Benny and Frieda, our Daughter Sharah Dennis lives in Chalet South Carolina. Thankyou so much Cissie for this great legacy story tell with your father Franklin Graham.
  • I live in Southern California. Went to Billy's Los Angeles Crusade 20 years ago. I went the 2nd night, Rose Bowl. Filled to capacity. Rev. Graham, in his 80's using I remember, a walker, stood at pupit, said 2 sentences, then sat down. Why should I be disappointed, the fact that I got to attend ONE Billy Graham crusade was a treasure for me. Other podium guests spoke. I visited the beautiful Billy Graham Museum in Charlotte. God gives me very colorful night time dreams, and I had such a beautiful dream that night about my Museum visit. The volunteers were so nice. I've been sending shoeboxes for 25 years; I estimate I've sent about 90. Love doing this project every year. I'm the only Christian in my family, unfortunately.
  • I heard Billy Graham preach three times. Very memorable. To God be the glory. Thanks for sharing.
