The Paris Olympics has been full of mistakes, bad officiating and incorrect decisions.
  • The degree of difficulty should not have been overlooked in the beginning of this... 🤔

Judges just have to do a better job all around. They should’ve given Jordan the correct difficulty assessment from the beginning. They should also be able to tell if a gymnast is in bounds or out of bounds the first time around.

if this is true then I think they don`t want to admit that they made a mistake with voinea`s penalty and trying someone else to blame. taking away it now would be disgrace as well

I’m an american and can still see they robbed not one but two Romanians of medals, first with the “out of bounds” ankle, which it was not. That routine was miles beyond what Chiles had put down, and then the literal medal theft. Horrible all around.
  • If the judges had gotten the score right for all three athletes, Voinea would win the bronze.

the Romanian girl was also misjudged, the judges depuncted her by saying that she had her foot outside the line, which her coach had proof that it wasn't the case. When she tried to talk to the judges they didn't change her score, then why should they change it to Jordan Chiles?
  • Why didn't the judges get it right to begin with?! Why all this flip flopping? Just ridiculous!
  • The time given to each athlete should be the same. Each given time to present their work, as each should be given the same score window. Following each should be given a window of time for an appeal, when need be. It’s simple really, or at the least should be.

The Judges should have said, " Sorry for the confusion! Both Jordan Chiles and Ana Bărbosu performed excellent and Both deserved the Bronze medal !" Both Jordan Chiles and Ana Bărbosu are happy! Case closed!

It's wrong not to give all the gymnasts the same amount of time for appeal. Isnt the point of these rules and time limits to make everything EVEN and fair for all? And ofcourse the judges should have gotten the score correct the first time. Their mess up was caught and thats what should matter. Fix mistakes once you know about them, don't ignore them. This is wrong and I would still say that if it was another country. *edit to say - if a Romanian gymnast was called out of bounds and points deducted but there is video proof she wasnt out of bounds then thats not right either and she needs to be given the points back. If that means she should have won the bronze over the other two then so be it. Fair is fair.

Sabrina Voinea ahd to win the bronze, and the judges stole her 0.10 Normally she would be ahead both, chiles and Barbosu. So Chiles shoild benout of podium any way. But I agree, too many mistakes of judjes. The Romanian gymnasts suffered unfairly.
