Upgrade your phone mount today! Get 15% off ProClip USA custom car phone mounts with code: GINGIUM bit.ly/3xK0cwM. Today we install upgraded motor mounts on the Turbo Honda Fit. Upgraded motor mounts greatly improve shifting & other driving characteristics, but, also greatly increase vibrations leading to an uncomfortable ride. In my opinion, they should only be installed on your daily driver if its ABSOLUTELY necessary...

If those are a solid chunk of poly in the mount with a thin metal sleeve, you can actually drill holes through the poly, perpendicular to the direction the engine rotates and make it softer!
  • @Sneka97
Looks like you modded your daily driver so much, you now need a new daily driver lmao
  • @joeygonzalez2601
Hardrace makes mounts that are the oe style but they use hardened rubber. Seems like the perfect "in-between" motor mount
  • @na6_coen
The way Audrey let out this “oh” truely shows how much this thing vibrates while idling 😂
  • @Blackfang_12
I remember installing solid engine mounts on my 1000cc 3 cylinder car. Since 3 cylinders engine vibrate more, so many nuts and bolts from the interior came loose within weeks of installing the mounts. I still used it for a good 10 years before swapping back to stock.
  • @skimalcanr
I think the main problem of the stock mounts are with the bottom one. This transversal motor don't move to much side to side. So you could install the two stock motor mounts on the top and a solid on the bottom. I'm shure it will fix all of that.

I know this comment maybe overlooked, but as someone with many different Honda motors in many different chassis an ATI Dampener has made an unbelievable difference in all of the cars we have had. I will say we have Kseries but stock a K24a2, K24a without the balance shafts and a Type R K20a all three cars and it’s made and large difference in all. I would definitely recommend for the Fit!

0:48 i was watching it in the dark and bro its like a flash bomb in my face

I once put a solid dogbone mount bushing in my mk6 gti. I took it out the next day 😂

I worked at an exhaust for a couple of years. All the reasons you mentioned are valid but how close it is to a 45° turn, which has more load on during flex than straighter sections, was also a factor. you could also add another one after the 90° turn in front of the transmission to allow for a little more flex. the braided pipes twist better than they actually flex
  • @EricErnst
I've seen a more forgiving solution.. get stock motor mounts and fill the voids with polyurethane window weld. Let it cure and the mount will be a hybrid rubber/poly motor mount.
  • @3kzack
Put new oem motor and tranny mount, then put aftermarket poly mount in the rear. I’ve done this to my accord except I used a rock hard plastic insert for the rear mount and a softer poly insert for the front torque mount and oem tranny and engine mount. The engine has some flex but it feels really sporty great throttle response and haven’t missed a shift since. No vibrations whatsoever.
  • @Mia-bixoxo
Finally the dual tips gone!! Looks so much better! Now fix this on the miata
  • @Chase004
Sound insulate the cabin like a shop would do for sub woofers should help with vibration and noise.
  • @joshuabichsel
I appreciate you just admitting that your upgrade path wasnt what you were after. Great video
  • @shadowtuy
Make your own mounts using window weld. Its like 70-75DA iirc.. Or buy new OEM mounts and fill the gaps with window weld, couple of MK7 buddies like it.
  • @saekabura
There's a trick people do with 3m window seal. They fill up stock mounts and they are midway between stiff and stock. Maybe that's your answer? If not then there's a engine damper shock absorber thingy that you can put on. It reduces engine flexing but without adding much vibrations

Welcome to adulthood, where for some reason comfort matters to us now...
  • @madbull4
Man! I've watched a lot of videos of people driving full tilt on back roads and I must say, your video was very inpressive! It looked like you were literally flying! Looked like a lot of fun! Great video. Hope the bushings "break in" sufficiently that you don't hate them. Can't wait to see the Tail Of The Dragon videos.
