Skull and Bones: all the promise of a “AAAA” game, all the fun of a mobile grind fest.
  • For me it was Mario Party. They promised you'd have fun with your friends but they failed to mention friends weren't included!!
  • Overpromising and underdelivering is the mantra of the industry these days. 10 games is not enough.

I was colored surprised that Anthem didn’t make the list 😮

Fable 2 was the first modern RPG video game I ever got my dad into. He shared the glory Heroes of Might and Magic III with me and I got to return the favor years later. For that, I will always be forever thankful to the Fable games.

It would be cool to see a video showing the reverse too: games that underpromised and overdelivered.

I find it kind of amazing that even with all his history of capping about his games, Todd and Bethesda actually delivered on Skyrim. In my opinion they actually overdelivered on every front. It's a shame that they couldn't find the same magic with Starfield

Heard Star Citizen back when I was in Highschool and watched alot of videos about it. Now I'm married and had my first born 2 years into my marriage and the game is not even close to release yet. I hope my great grandkids will be able to play it.

Cyberpunk 2077 should have been on this list. Fallout 76. Overwatch 2. Anthem. Spore. SimCity (2013). Cities Skyline 2. Godus. Daikatana. Aliens Colonial Marines. Saints Row. Dying Light 2. Kerbal Space Program 2. Diablo 4. Might N.9. Red Fall. Final Fantasy 14. Some of these did get better, but they all fit this topic. I agree with all the games listed here as well. Got your next 2 videos right there.

I loved the first battlefront. My buddy and I defected to that when all our buddies were locked into cod. It was just fun.
  • Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, totally redeemed from the flawed launch, but if you look at the original promises, there are quite a few which are not even in the current version.

IDK how Fable is only #10... "you can plant an acorn and come back and boot the game up 10 years later and find a tree growing in it's place!" was more then bold on their part.
  • As someone who got on the hype train for no mans sky pre release I am shocked it didn’t make the top 10. It was the first game that promised infinite possibilities through procedual generation and everything was blah

I think about the Fable series similarly to Watch Dogs: if you didn’t know what was promised, then you’d be quite pleased with what was delivered.

dude, I loved Brink. First game I ever pre ordered. my buddy and I spent soo much time playing it. I platinumed it. Never got around to Dirty Bomb, but I did actually play Brink again for a bit last year and it was still a blast.
