The closest championships happen when the best driver drives the second best car. See Schumacher fighting the superior Williams and McLarens in the second half of the nineties, when he first moved to Ferrari. Put Max in a Ferrari and F1 instantly becomes a competitive series.

Drivers like Max and Lewis etc seem to be at their most relaxed when theyā€™ve got an easy teammate. Max wouldnā€™t get that at Merc.

This sort of thing is not unprecedented. Although people think about it being some noble quest to bring Ferrari back to the top, Michael Schumacher, in 1995, was also privately unhappy with how his reputation was being dragged through the mud with constant speculation and scrutiny of Benetton's performance that he wanted to move on, even though he felt that he could have won a third title in a row with Benetton in 1996 if he stayed
  • So are tge people who are really mad about the media suggesting Max will leave RB fans or Max fans? I don't understand why they are so mad. Why as an F1 fan would you be so emotional about a team principal that you would ignore their obvious mistakes? Do they think by asserting "he's done nothing wrong," that they can influence key business partners that say otherwise loudly and publicly?

It can happen, most change 2026 if it get worse 2025.

Max should pull a Rossi, move to Merc and win the first race!

In my opinion, he wouldnā€™t. It makes no sense. 1) Itā€™s going to be Georgeā€™s team now. Even if they donā€™t say it, it seems very likely theyā€™d prioritise George as heā€™s been there longer. And heā€™s as good as Max. Or at least had the potential to be as good as Max. 2) Following on from that, George is a way tougher/faster driver than Checo. And I doubt Max would want a driver whoā€™d match him every week. 3) Merc wouldnā€™t want their drivers costing each other, and by extension Mercedes, points in the championships. And 4) Red Bull are winning, Mercedes arenā€™t. It makes no sense.

Anyone that thinks RedBull will allow their cash cow to leave are absolutely stupid! Itā€™s all about taking the view off of Cheating Horner. A diversion is EXACTLY what RedBull need. Iā€™d be surprised if they didnā€™t spread the rumour themselves šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ It will be a boring season and another next year as he wonā€™t leave. I donā€™t know if F1 can handle it staying the same
