  • Never let negative comments take your joy away. Your family is such a pleasure to behold. Thank you for sharing.
  • Of course you can let your frustrations out, that IS frustrating to wait for something like a permit. You ARE autentic!!! Happy birthday Tara 🎉
  • I kinda wish you posted everyday! Waiting for Sundays and Wednesday isn’t enough!! I’m sooooo excited to see John build the new kitchen! He is so talented and I know it’s going to look great!! 😍 and don’t stop sharing your feelings! That makes your posts “real”! 👍🏼

❤ I particularly appreciate when sweet folks like you all share the reality of the ups and downs of life. I think that you all keep a very nice balance in your content. You never oversell the upside of your lives nor do you pander to the downside for sympathy or $. Hardly any one of us could not say at any moment in time that there are many others who "have it far worse!" That does not change the fact that each of us lives our own feeling the positives and negatives of that life. I remain a fan of you dear Newbys!❤

The final still shot with farmer Crusoe lying in his wheelbarrow with Obi watching over him while Joau works is priceless! God bless you all! 😊

In no ways did you and John act like you were victims! Honestly!!! You guys have waited this long for your permit, take a deep breath and keep waiting.... You guys are always making and doing interesting projects. I love your innovations and sometimes crazy ideas. Nothing is ever wasted, think of all the things you're learning even when it doesn't quite work out as you thought it would, it's all a learning curve which you'll never loose!!! Keep going, keep trying and keep editing your fun and upbeat videos. They keep us coming back for more 🤩👍🏼👌🏼💖

Happy Birthday Tara. Hope you had funPlanning the kitchen, woohooo. John will figure it out for sure. That other kitchen was amazing. Love that you are keeping those original tiles. For the pan rack, maybe find a nice beautiful old ladder, get some hooks and hang that from the ceiling to hang your pots and pans? Love the shelf idea on the stone wall, it would be such a shame to cover them up with cupboards. Have a nice weekend and see you Wednesday. Much Love.
  • I just love being transported to your Portugal homestead and watching your lives as they unfold each week! Seeing the boys growing and developing their skills...Sawyer already counting in Portuguese! Crusoe relaxed in the wheelbarrow with Joao in the garden! Tara and John planning the new Stonehouse kitchen! Tara's cute facial expressions at the end! And John's competence and work ethic! I'm here for it all! Meanwhile in Maine USA our gardens are doing very well with moderate abundance....lots of high bush blueberries, peaches, tomatoes, cukes, garlic drying, onions almost ready, pole beans in the freezer; temps in the 70s and 80s F, so many flowers and birds. It's heavenly! Rock on!
  • 1. I love how you addressed the comments. I am a big believer in everyone being able to have their own version of hard. Everyone's "hard" is different, valid and it certainly has a place to be shared on your own YouTube channel. 2. As an Aussie, I laughed at the "kids come see the snake". And crusoes courage to touch it 😂 3. Tara, the big wine glass = Yes. More wine, less trips to refill. 4. Loving the transformation of your property. Been watching since the beginning!!
  • @SimsBossMom
You guys are amazing!! I love the way you teach the boys. Don't listen to the haters, they have nothing better to do than to hate! See you Wednesday!

Your not whining, just sharing the real frustrations of building permits. It is a reality, and I love how your are not pretending everything with your life is fabulous everyday. The authentic vibe of your vlog keeps me coming back each week.

Designing kitchens , how exciting! When I did mine I laid it all out on GRAPH PAPER, starting with fixed items like stove, sink, frig etc.then went from there. Like needing counter space by dishwasher, stove and sink, practicality first, beauty second. It kind of narrowed down decisions. Loved this week’s episode. Thank you

Your story about your mum took me back to 1976 and my 1st Christmas with my new husband. I was 22 and anticipating opening something sweet & sentimental as I had gifted my hubby a beautiful engraved watch to mark this special occasion. (I'm sure you can see where this story is going) You guessed right...a vacuum cleaner! I tried so hard to hide my disappointment but I he saw through that and promised never to buy for me as a gift anything with a cord. 😆 For the next 43 yrs until his passing, he kept that promise. Thanks for the sweet memory Tara.
  • It's lovely to see you sitting on your sofa, with a coffee, looking out at your wonderful view. I know you've dreamed of this moment, since the build began 🥰

I am portuguese, born and raised, and I have never ever seen a snake 🐍 in Portugal other than at a zoo. Love how Crusue is fearless and has such love and curiosity of all animals. Think you may be raising a future veterinarian 😊❤❤
  • Thanks for the video Crusoe is so fearless just love Sawyers face light up with helping his big brother with the onions you guys are such an amazing couple 🤗🤗🤗🤗
  • Good morning Newby family. Good job Jamie and how wonderful to have family visiting. The boys with their cousins was priceless for them. This is a channel about one family living in northern Portugal and I am honored I am able to be on this life journey with you. My birthday is August 10th- Happy birthday Tara.🎉🎉🎉🎂

It is so lovely that you share all aspects of your life. Please do not allow the minor few impact you! Can’t wait to see your new adventures each week. Xx
  • Favorite scene: Walking on to your porch, coffee in hand, and taking a seat on the comfy couch to take in the view and enjoy the morning. Those feels literally put a smile on my face. Nevermind the negative peeps.
