Taryl's New Personal Mower - Is It Any Good?

Thats getting to be the norm no matter what it is. People don’t know shit about anything unless their computer tells them the problem. Old school knowledge folk are getting hard to find.

Taryl's stories and his expertise shown in his videos make an important point. It shows the HUGE difference between a tech that has a LOT of experience and is a good trouble shooter, VS someone who is just a 'parts hanger'. So you know when you take a machine to Taryl's shop, you really get your moneys worth knowing your problem will be solved quickly. If I recall correctly Taryl charges $70 per hour labor, and I bet he gets the job done twice as fast as someone charging half that amount.

I have come out of retirement somewhat to help people with their equipment problems. I've repaired small engines for 40 years or so , but there is no one repairing them within 60- 100 miles of us . I closed the shop 10 years ago but still did a few for old friends and customers. But like you've mentioned in other videos, it's getting hard to get parts , warranty work , or even dealers after you buy .i mentioned in one of your last video's about Stens closing parts places , and said Portland was the last one but there is still one in Indiana. So good luck, grass rats , when guys like me and Teryl quit repairing your on your own !!! Great video !!!😊

as a 58 year old mechanic... you and i say the same thing.... they are all good if you take care of it... i encourage an oil change and air filter every year... the mower will last for decades... its cheap maintenance...

Good morning Taryl, Speaking of rebuilding carbs. The float bowls you've been sandblasting are just fine. There is no coating on aluminum float bowls, but there is a coating on aluminum rims, and automotive trim No worries young man!

Toro is a good machine to get , if you can’t afford a Ferris. ( this will ruffle some feathers , wait till I get the popcorn😂)

Glad you mentioned the leaf blower I use mine to clean my rider with it each time I cut grass , only takes 20 seconds and it keeps the grass from building up under there . Good advice , quick and simple.

The fact that you are well versed on all modele mowers/engines is the reason and actually Troubleshoot and repair the equipment is why you are my repair shop

I have a Kubota commercial grade diesel zero turn with a 54inch deck . Love it ! I cut my property 5 times before having to refuel . My property is 1 acre .

Hi Taryl after you did your last commentary on the Toro Time cutter back in 2020, I bought a 42-inch Toro Time cutter. Haven't had any trouble with it except for oil changes and blade sharpening's. I also pulled the deck off to scrape old grass off bottom because I mulch with mine. The Cutting decks are easy to take off.

First thing you do with that shoot is tie it up lol! 60 inch and tie it up and you have a 50 inch width with it down! I think shoots are useless.

That's one thing that's great about living in Australia, we have strong consumer protection laws here.

52" Toro a proven unit when serviced by a knowable dealer I have a John Deere LX 255 Kohler 15hp came with every option used for $1,600 bucks it's been a great mower has top filling gas cap i can pour a 5 gallon can with no spills
