Good job. When you said it would start and then stop, my first thought was an optical encoded disk on the treadmill drive wheel was loose. Sometimes those are held on with basically double-side tape on the disk and over time it fall down to the shaft. Symptoms are the same. The belt starts to move and then stops then the speed controller doesn't get feedback. I guess we need to stock various power mosfets anymore. I'm starting to run across more and more of them.

This is a bandaid fix. You don't explain what caused it to blow in the first place.
  • One thing I would like to know is when you applied speed using the console when it was broke did the LED flash ? I am reading that a flashing LED indicates the console control signal is getting to the motor control board even if the motor control board is not working right. So a flashing LED would indicate a working console. It would seem they would have this to isolate the console out of the possible faults. Just don"t know. Anybody ? Thanks. Nice repair job. Tooth pick, nice tip.

I’m having the same problem! The belt motor briefly turns on then cuts out! the power light on the controller board is lit but turns off at the same time I hit the start button and the motor briefly starts and shuts off! Then the power light comes back and resets to do the same thing over & over! Also the ceramic part 7W 3K3J FY gets really hot is this normal? Pls advise!

Great Video. Need input....Still more issues on my end. Moffett burned twice now. Cleaned belt rollers. Bearings smooth belt ok and greased with proform silicone. Tested pulse sensor is working. Unit runs great after changed twice mosfett by itself no issues. If one gets on control light blinks alternate red motor stops. If done several times burns mosfett shorts it out(both times). I think power is not regulated well upon runner on treadmill. Will not compensate well. Tested dc motor 18v battery. Works fine. As I mentioned runs great without me running on treadmill at level 1 through 10 from console. If I get on treadmill it bogs down and shuts off or overheats and burns the mosfetts twice now. As seeing videos maybe a broken winding in motor shaft. From tear wear giving no torque on ones weight on treadmill run and forces a burn?. Did you experience on your norditrack similar after your repair? Any other situation? Thanks.
  • Which numbers should I pay attention to when ordering a transistor for my treadmill
  • Hi, Thank you for sharing your video, i've got the same problem as you. I replace the defective MOSFET by new one. The belt run approx 500m and the MOSFET burn again. Do you have any ideas what is the cause ? MOSFET is a IRFP250N from China
  • Can you tell me the name of the part I have the same treadmill doing the same thing
  • I have error 04 and I changed the mosfet but nothing happened the same error
  • thanks found the same shorted mosfet ordered a pack of 5 hope there real lotta fakes out there
  • Hi does any one could tell me what to do my tread mill belt won't move, I have a Diamondtrack tread mill.

I have the same board, but my problem is once I start walking on it after a few seconds the treadmill just stops. If I take my feet off the belt it starts up again. You think this could be the issue?
