Everyone's eyes were on Leverkusen and Alonso. They forgot Gasperini destroyed Liverpool and he had been an impressive tactician for years now

People were like Alonso got it all wrong. Gaspeirini's tactics is crazy. They press all match long and they believe the man is more dangerous than the ball. I have seen some of their matches and the way they defend their corners is even ridiculous.

Don't let Gasperini's team press you man-to-man, especially Atalanta. They have been doing this for years...

I think the tactics from Gasperini were great but nothing really special to be fair but what impressed me was how intense the team opperate over the whole game. They were so aggressive and so physical that Leverkusen really panic as the game went on.

Gasperini man to man marking and fast transition after reminds me the Dortmund of klopp but with 3 at the back its more easy to go man to man but high risky it paid off.
  • The key was really in Boniface, he should have started the game to duel with Hien, if Boniface could win some balls there, they could caught Atalanta behind their midfield´s back and have all the space. Very good game and very well played by Atalanta, by their road to the finals, both teams were deserving of the trophy, this was one of the best Europa League finals for me.
  • I feel like Hoffman was missed in this game not forgetting Andrich 😢
  • A big fan of your new style of video editing, I have to say. You must have really enjoyed doing this one. Keep it up!

I love Italian art of calcio! Just like Inter against Man City, who struggled so badly in the final and should have lost when looking at the xG's. The filosophy of italian football is so impressive, creating caos without the ball.

No tactic is more advanced than another, it all comes down to the appropriate choice based on the players you have and their execution, of which this game is a great example. Good job!
  • In situations where the opposing forwards are hyper aggressive on the defence, some managers would have their goalkeeper push up to form a back 4 and cause an overload against the forwards. Why didn't Alonso try that?

When i saw Adli starting i was so confused

I'm glad you made this video, I've been looking for the tactics explanation for this match for days.

Watching this gave me flashbacks to when I have a great run of form in FIFA only to get stunned when that one person does constant pressure 😂fair play tho, Lookman had the game of his life as well.
  • As a Liverpool fan I must say Respect for this man and his players, remember not all Atalanta's players are top or young ... But they trust each other
  • Once saw a video of xabi not allowing his players do long passes and it aged nicely
  • Man to man pressing is terrifying if you don't have skilful players

I predicted gasperini will become one awesome manager 3 seasons back vs real madrid his formation is the real key to success despite selling all good players he is still a master class tactician kudoos to atalanta and gasperini ☝🏻🤙🏻
