I'm surprised Andres Escobar's own goal isn't number one. He literally was killed because of that mistake. Netflix made a show about it
  • You should have included the Seattle Seahawks Superbowl final play. Talk about bone headed!
  • @SirAsdf
Shout out to JR Smith being so bad he made LeBron abandon Cleveland 😂
  • @scsutton1
Gerrard's slip is even more ironic given how he screamed at his own players the words 'This does not f***ing slip!' a few weeks earlier when they beat eventual champions Manchester City.

Bartman's "mistake" shouldn't be on here. That was not a mistake. Fans will reach for a foul ball if it's coming toward them, and if the ball is in the stands, it's fair game for the fans to catch it. Instead, Zidane's headbutt should be up high. That happened in the World Cup final, and it cost France a World Cup championship.

Karius mistakes occured after a concussion he took at minute 51. I think it would be fair to mention these kind of details!
  • @r-rod8116
Jim Marshall's running the wrong way! Marshall's running the wrong way! 🤣
  • Karius was suffering from a concussion after a horrible clash in that Champions League final. The fact he wasn't substituted is an infamy.

Thank you so much for including the 5th Down game on the list. I feel like it gets overlooked a lot when discussing the greatest blunders in sports. However, you all should have included Game 6 of the 1985 World Series.

Buckner is so infamous one of the PS2 MVP Baseball games had the commentary line “Shades of Bill Buckner” if a ball got past a first baseman (those games had a TON of dialog for the time. Play a game at Shea, the dialog would randomly be interrupted by a loud jet flying overhead.)

I remember watching the NCAA national championship game between Michigan and North Carolina when Chris Webber called a time out late in the game. The ref did miss the traveling.

Early in the 1987cseason, the Red Sox came to Shea Stadium for an exhibition game. Buckner was introduced and got a standing ovation from the Mets fans ( including yours truly)

My blood was boiling before you even finished introducing the 5th down game. 🤬
  • @marcus813
I remember hearing about that "5th down" game at the time it went down. That Colorado team sure lived a charmed life in 1990! The Buffaloes managed to win a piece of the national title even with a tie (Tennessee in the Pigskin Classic in Anaheim) and a loss (at Big Ten co-champ Illinois) while Georgia Tech never lost (tied at UNC).

Allouettes-Eskimos Grey Cup. Duval misses field goal but Sask had too many men on the field so he got a re-kick and won the Cup.
