I find the comments more interesting than the video! I'm a Florida resident of 31 years. I love it here! It's expensive everywhere in the country. Every area in Florida is so different. It depends on what you like to do and WHO you want to do it with. Check the demographics. Some areas of Florida are like being in a foreign country. Love where you live. LIVE where you love.😎✌️

What I appreciate most about this video is the input of locals in the comments section. It has been an education, in a less expected way. Thank you, local commenters!

I have lived and traveled all over Florida. First, the compliments: Great shots of the scenery! Nice descriptions too. Thank you for taking the time to show off our beautiful state! Now let’s pronounce Dunedin. Dun-EE-din. Lakeland is LAKE-lund. And the reality: Orlando is way too crowded, Jacksonville has a lot of crime, Bartow is in the middle of nowhere, and Daytona Beach is pure trash. Prices have gone up drastically here since this video was posted. In 2022 you’ll be hard pressed to find anything decent to rent under $1800. Most 2/2 apartments start over $2000 and there are waiting lists. Sorry to sound so negative, but the cheapest places to live in Florida are that way for a reason. Your best bet if you really want to have a good time here is to plan a vacation or two every year. Parking is for tourists, not residents, and hotels provide great specials off season. If I had it to do over, I’d buy a mobile home in a park, keep my northern home, and stay here seasonally. Snowbirds are the smart ones. Plan to spend some time in Tampa Bay. Enjoy!

If you want to own a boat, you live in Cape Coral/Fort Lauderdale. If you want to own a plane, you live in Spruce Creek. If you want to own a beach front house, you live in the Keys. If you want to have party, you live in the Villages. If you want culture, you live in St Augustine. Simple as that.

I have the distinct feeling whoever put this video together has never been to Florida.
  • CITIES YOU SUGGESTED ARE SOME OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE CITIES IN FLORIDA ONLY THE RICH CAN AFFORD.

I visited my brother-in-law and sister-in-law in Bradenton Florida just before the virus came out. It’s on the gulf coast. We really had a good time but the traffic was horrible. My sister-in-law claim it was because of spring break.
  • @blaccbeaut
Most people in Florida pronounce Dunedin as done-E-din. 😅 a FL thing.

I don't know where he gets the low housing prices... I live in Orlando and to rent anything in a nice neighborhood is about twice what he's quoting. Buying is usually cheaper, but the housing prices are going crazy right now. Also, to live beach side, especially on the east coast, is very expensive. Let's not fail to mention that the 90 degree, 100% humidity summers, last about 9 month a year. That's why the official hurricane season is 7 months long.

Thank you for the info, I think I would choose cape coral

Hi, I enjoyed this Video. I'm hoping in any future videos about retirement cities you include health care facilities and their ranking. . This topic is a major concern for retirees.
  • @lisica8458
    "Doon-din"???!!!!! Thanks for the chuckle.
  • Whoever put this video together has only seen tourist information on Florida the places they chose are all much more expensive than the prices they gave you look in the videos on Martin County in St Lucie County are reasonable Florida retirement
  • @stevdaughtr6098
When Florida became one of the only places in the United States that is still free..The prices went through the roof pretty much everywhere. I can’t believe I’m even saying that statement “that is still free”.
  • @FF-if1hm
When did you get this information? There are nothing good to rent in Orlando for that price. Just those places where police must keep all around 24 hours a day.
  • @VHPINC
It would be so helpful if you would update these cities with 2023 average monthly housing costs.
  • @davidking417
It grinds my gears when I hear " Watch till the end"
  • @karenblair8223
Just a handy tip whenever you're doing these kind of videos....make sure you pronounce the city's name correctly! Dunedin is not pronounced DOON-din. Gave this Florida native quite a chuckle though...😄
  • Edge water is a nice little town but it’s described as between Daytona and Cocoa Beach. It’s actually adjacent to New Smyrna Beach. The city limits of Edgewater awe only a few minutes from the South Causeway Bridge that takes you to the beach in NSB.
