Mega Man - Guts Man's Stage

The first stage I take on is probably a similar first stage for most people... Guts Man's stage. His stage is pretty easy to take on with just the buster, as is Guts Man himself, and most importantly, he gives you the weapon needed to get the only utility in this game, the Magnet Beam. His stage is infamous for the very noisy platforms that you need to time your jumps on to avoid being dumped into the pit, but that is really it. They only appear at the very start of the stage, so once you are past them you will probably be fine.
Guts Man himself is nothing special. He jumps around causing ground quakes to knock you over, then tries to throw boulders at you. The sad part is, even if you do get knocked over, you still have time to jump over the boulders, so dodging the ground quakes is actually completely unnecessary. How difficult Guts Man is depends entirely on how close he decides to get to you... The closer he gets, the harder it becomes to dodge the boulders, and the more likely it will be for him to try and jump on you, so you need to be careful.
Enjoy!~

Gutsman's stage is EASY once you get past the first part.

The first part is annoying, but the rest of the stage is very easy.

I've never won the original Mega Man because I've never, ever been able to get by those platforms. I always die. It's really annoying. I've made it to and beaten every other boss, but I can't even get by the start of Gutsman's stage. It's annoying as hell.

I hate this stage with all my heart

The first one is the one that brings me the best memories hehe
-
I remember the platforms on the original NES and they were difficult, but I managed to get through them. Playing this game again on mobile, and for some reason the platforms seem near impossible.
-
This stage is probably the shortest in the entire original series
-
It takes approximately 20 buster shots to destroy a Big Eye.
-
The sound that the platforms makes is the sound that I’m going to hear before I die, because it drowns out ever thing else

@Contrastique That is why it is there... It also lets people see if I am doing anything silly such as pushing buttons to the music during stuffs like get weapon screens. XD

This is one Megaman game where you pretty much need to take on the robot masters in a certain order.

Nice video ! I like the explainations and all, and you managed not to get hit once, really well done. I tried this MM a long time ago, I don't remember if I passed this stage though. I don't think I tried much.

The second part is HARD for me to pass

The way to take care of the miners in Guts Man's Stage is fire.

All these comments about how hard Guts Man's stage is makes me feel like a pro. Seriously, it's always my first stage.

Wow I love the controller icon at the bottom of the screen.

I always thought that Guts Man felt like a typical "second stage". I can't quite explain it, but to me, the natural first stage has always been Cut Man. It's probably because of the catchy energetic "let's go!" music on that stage and the stage's basic and simplistic design. I typically pick the stages in the order Cut/Guts/Bomb/Ice/Fire/Elec; that feels like an order that the game would use if there were a set boss order.

that first part of the level was always a pain in the butt.

I keep thinking about how I would remake this stage in a isometric/full 3D environment... Some thoughts I've had are adding minecarts (where you have to time ducking and such, maybe some cart-to-cart jumps) and falling boulders. As for Super Arm, my genius invention is that you can pick up small enemies as well as terrain.

I always found it odd how Gutsman takes less hits with the buster than Iceman.
