Porsche GTS Lightweight Manual is brilliant so, this or GT3 which would you take?

Published 2023-08-11
Porsche 992 GTS. manual transmission cars are getting scarce, yet Porsche understands the appeal of stick shifters which means, rare as it is, old school manual versions of the Porsche 911 GTS are still with us.

And having that choice available is wonderful, yet with the PDK semi automatic gearbox being such a fantastic transmission this manual shifter needs to be at least as equally impressive,

And so, to find out if pulling that stick and pushing that clutch can be as fulsome a driving experience as the snappy PDK and to find out if this lightweight package GTS can challenge the GT3 as a driver's car, join me Roger Bailey on what is going to be an excellent day of Porsche driving.

I picked my brand new 992 GTS last friday and I haven't slept or stopped smiling since - it's the most amazing thing ever...ever!!! Brilliant review by the way!

once again Roger knocks it out of the park, brilliant indeed
  • The biggest advantage of the GTS compared to the GT3 is the torque. GT3 for the race track, but definitely GTS (manual!) for the road.
  • @RobinSingh-lf3iq
That was brilliant that you were able to drive and compare 3 shark blue 911s back to back! I personally love my PDK 992 GTS as the best overall package. Thank you for the video!

Great comparison- so difficult to choose without trying. GTS lightweight Manual with buckets or sofas would be awesome😊

I’ve also borrowed a ‘23 911 GTS from Chester Porsche whilst my Boxster was in the shop. Fantastic car (PDK) fully spec’d. Almost too much power for local roads. But easy to drive, comfortable and practical enough to use daily.

Thanks Roger love your content. Wish we saw more of it! I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. Thanks mate. 😎

i wonder if we'll get a centre exhaust and better diffuser on the 992.2? great video thanks

Will collect my PDK GTS within a few days 🙂 Like the review ! Where can I find footage of the independent testing of the 'real' GTS power ? Tnx

I think it depends what you want the car for Roger. I’m on my second GT3 and love them as it’s a weekend toy. Have recently done the Porsche Silverstone Experience and drove the C2S on track. Much softer and easier to live with than a GT3, still hugely capable and rewarding to drive. If I was using a 911 as as a daily I would defo go GTS rather than GT3, otherwise for fun and sense of occasion on weekends, it’s a GT3 for me! NA 4.0, revving to 9K…..

fantastic review this Porsche GTS manual is certainly very very desirable thanks

Brilliant and fair review Roger. The GTS is so close to the 3. For me I love the firmness and NA engine in my 3. However just helped a mate spec, order and rcv allocation to a GTS. He's not a track guy or spirited drive guy, so it suits him better. That is a beauty of the Porsche 911 range, something to suit everyone.
  • Diva. Great video Rog. You go from strength to strength with these brilliant films.
  • @JohnJoseph-xw5zk
Hi Rog, certainly one of your best videos yet. Full manual for me please. Nice matching jumper too.😊
  • A car with the aim for a trip down to the pub 😂 Yeah, good save with the line after that. I think a GTS with an aero kit and PDK is the perfect amount of power and capabilities for the road and track. Good review as always.

I'll be controvesial here and say I would take the GTS and I suspect others would too if the GT3 wasn't such a rare beast which goes up in value and not down. great video very enjoyable
