Loved this when it was on the telly. Hunt reminds me a little bit of my dad, not the foul language but how he gets things wrong "He's got PTSD" "He's a hero and you accuse him of having the clap"🤦♂️

I watched this on its arrival on British telly. I've watch it several times over the last couple of decades, and I'm watching a box set as of this moment. It has never aged. Gene Hunt is a fabulous character. Real, funny and bang on with the spirit of the 70's period. Nobody has the nerve or bottle to write material like this anymore. Long may Gene be available to all.

True story. We went on holiday at Xmas last year. Waiting to go into security, my phone goes (boss smsing me). Sms alert is "you're surrounded etc". Suddenly we had a big gap around us. The legend lives!

The first series of Life on Mars was brilliant, I loved it, Gene hunt for all his faults, like being completely politically incorrect, was my favourite character in Life on Mars.
