Published 2015-10-25
I have built dozens of heavy-duty workbenches over the years to support my Robotics Company. This video gives you an overview of how to build your own Heavy-Duty Workbench. This Workbench is estimated to hold up to 600 pounds. Follow along as I show you the steps. Chris Rogers is a robotics expert and president of Inspectorbots. Now THATS what I call a heavy duty workbench. NOTHING can destroy that baby. GREAT JOB.

I have watched quite a few video on how to do your first workbench for DIY’s and this is by far the best one I’ve seen. I’m a first timer and will be doing my first workbench and I think I’m going to do mine just like this workbench. Great job! Wish me luck!
  • A great no-nonsense approach, guys. People laugh at the lag-bolt fastener approach, but lag-bolts are incredibly strong as mechanical fasteners go, and they'll allow a person to dismantle the workbench pretty easily, too. Looks great! :)

From all the tutorials I've seen. Yours was the best. This is what I will be making as well. Thanks allot for this video. God bless you

Finishing up building this - I nicknamed it 'The Beast'. Made a decision to keep it 8 feet in length and add two additional inner braces for the top and the shelf. Super solid, and just what I needed.

Just constructed my first workbench based on this design, thanks for the video.

great workbench, but the only improvement i'd make would be more lag bolts

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to try to make this to fit the space I have. Thanks.

You could fork lift a car onto that thing. Great Job. A quick, well thought-out construction. Your comments along the way were excellent.
  • Great job, I don't need such mission critical design but what a fantastic benchmark build, thank you for an excellent video.
  • If I decide to build tanks off a bench, this would be it! Work bench and Nuclear fallout protection all in one! Great video!

Thanks for the video! Designing my own bench and this was really helpful!

I built this thing, twice! First time I tried to compensate for uneven garage floor. Still didn’t work so I tried leveling feet. Those looked like a POS. Scrapped it, bought new lumber, and then built it on a level surface. Added more surface by extending the braces and table top 2” ( from 28” to 30”). I agree it’s a lot of lag bolts and a little more expensive, but it’s a badass work bench! Thanks to the guy that posted this.

Ive been watching several designs before I start constructing my bench and this has by far been the most solid and sturdy looking table thus far. Thanks for sharing!!
