The word liminal comes from the Latin word ‘limen’, meaning threshold – any point or place of entering or beginning. A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, a season of waiting, and not knowing.

Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us.

Author and theologian Richard Rohr describes this space as:

where we are betwixt and between the familiar and the completely unknown. There alone is our old world left behind, while we are not yet sure of the new existence. That’s a good space where genuine newness can begin. Get there often and stay as long as you can by whatever means possible…This is the sacred space where the old world is able to fall apart, and a bigger world is revealed. If we don’t encounter liminal space in our lives, we start idealizing normalcy. The threshold is God’s waiting room. Here we are taught openness and patience as we come to expect an appointment with the divine Doctor.

I usually don't like horror stuff but this is the type of "horror" I absolutely adore. It's so desolating, isolating, creepy and depressing, yet I can't stop looking at it.

0:45 You hang out with your friends in the bathrooms in the shop, far after closing time. The lights go out, the janitor locks the door. Just you and them now. But your buddies left a few minutes ago, they are in the car. It’s just you and …”them”… now.

I often wonder if people would still be commenting their long paragraphs about how they feel towards these images if it weren’t so mainstream. Because I can easily see uncomfortable nostalgic images being a weird sub culture on the internet that people poke at but never actually dive into. Like people would mumble “oh my god did you know there’s like thousands of videos of weird empty pictures” and then someone popular would point at these videos and say “this is weird’ Are people putting in the effort to collect these images, edit them together, make sure it has the right feel to them, and post them because they want recognition. Or because they truly care about these sorta things?

Little bit of lore for 0:57: You’ve been sitting in the chair for a while now. Waiting for something to happen or for someone to come. You finally Acknowledge the “Mirror” on the wall. You go over to it and look. It’s the exact room your standing in. You get the feeling in your gut that something isn’t right. Shouldn’t your reflection be in that room too? If it was a mirror surely you’d be able to see yourself. You’ve been in the room for to long. Your hear the door open but the door you see in the “Mirror” isn’t opening, It was the one behind you. Now your being forever dragged through the dark hallways. You remember the “Mirror” you saw, You come to realize it wasn’t a mirror. It was your way to escape. To escape T̸̼̠̦́̒͛̍͝Ḫ̸̗͔͍͇͊Ë̷̛̫̪́͌́͒M̷̹͚̳͇̘̄̿̿́͒͂̚. To finally escape the vast dark hallways you’ve been wandering through for months, years, decades even.

This gives me nostalgia for memories I had as a kid that never even happened. It almost feels like I’m having nostalgia from a past life.
