Jay & Amber , you'll love their "Then He Kissed Me" and "He's A Rebel" !!!
  • @kman007111
Can’t beat The Wall of Sound!!! Phil Spector was crazy but a musical genius!
  • @joelilley6603
The story was, as they were producing this song they didn't have all the lyrics hashed out and Phil Spector said for now just sing Da Do Ron Ron, and then they liked it and decided not to change it. Great song, great reaction guys. I'd love to see you react to Little Eva's 'Locomotion'. 👍

How can anyone listen to 60s pop and not feel a little better? 60s drum beats were so cool, fairly uncomplicated but so damn catchy.
  • @rscottw58
Lead singer on this song is Delores LaLa Brooks. She was under-aged and had to have a chaperone wherever they went for shows. The other girls wasn't much older than her either.

Yes you will love 'Then he kissed me' also by the Crystals. They were similar to the Ronettes who did 'Baby I love you' and 'Be my baby' and another great track 'Needle in a Haystack' by the Velvelettes-all 60's girl groups-Colin Ward
  • @KidBklyn
So many great girl groups from the 60s. The Crystals, The Chifons, The Ronettes, The Toys, The Shang-gri-las, the Shirelles, The Angels. MAN OH MAN. The list goes on.
  • @gkiferonhs
Amber would like "Then He Kissed Me" as another puppy-love song.
  • @tobysmith3351
Girl group - Dixie Cups "Chapel of Love' Lots of fun songs in the 60's (surfin, girl groups, Motown, British invasion). We lived in a decade of musical abundance.
  • @LiberalsArePoop
I love it when you talk about your beautiful children. The pride is so strong in your voices.
  • @helgar791
I saw them here in NYC back in the middle 60's. This song has always been my favorite by them, but "He's A Rebel", written by Gene Pitney, was always a close second. The great La La Brooks is still alive and performing these great songs.
  • @MartinCook-ry6tt
Shaun Cassidy did a cover of this song in the 70's...He was a heart throb in the 70's and star of The Hardy Boy Mysteries.
  • @walterpanovs
Lead singer LaLa Brooks was a few months away from her 16th birthday when the group recorded this hit in March of 1963. It peaked at #3. The same writing and producing team would deliver The Ronettes' "Be My Baby" (a #2 hit) a few months later.

Another Phill Spector classic! As crazy as he was, he made good music!
  • @olaflangness2907
Had a chance to hear them perform on stage many years ago. This song, “Then He Kissed Me “, and He’s A Rebel”, were performed. We loved it. First concert my wife went to in the US.

Many thanks to Jay & Amber! 💓 I love this song. The first version of it I ever heard was in 1976, sung by then-heartthrob Shaun Cassidy. A few years later I heard this original, loved it, too.

This song was sung by lead singer La La Brooks. Darlene Love sang lead on He's A Rebel and He's Sure The Boy I love. Darlene still performs she is in her 80's and sings her classic Christmas song every year " Christmas Baby Please Come Home". She has been all over Morning TV and recently teamed up with Cher for the NYC Rockefeller Center Tree lighting with a duet of "Christmas Baby Please Come Home". Wonderful talented lady.
