  • 1. Change your friends with ones that don't like competing for crap 2. Just go liv and don't wait for approval 3. Remember you live your life and you don't need a how to manual. Everything is up to you. 4. If you don't try that means you failed

This is what I want for myself. I'm an aspiring software engineer, and hope to do remote work part-time from a semi off-grid homestead I plan on building. That's the dream.

Awesome video and congratulations on breaking free from the grind. I am in a similar situation to you. 10 years ago I walked away from everything, had a six unit apartment building, way over-leveraged. I decided I was never going to be in that place again. It has taken me until now to pretty much be in a similar spot that you are. I've had my own painting business for 23 yrs and at 50 yrs old now It's wearing me down. Seven years ago I bought a travel trailer and lived in it for 2 years and saved enough money to buy a really cheap house on 2.5 acres of land. Right now I pretty much have no mortgage. A year and a half ago I launched a few websites doing affiliate SEO marketing, and now I make enough from that with my low expenses that I am pretty much getting out of my painting buisiness. The last 10 years has been a long journey for me, but I'm finally getting close to fully realizing my dream of having an online business that can totally support me. Now I mostly work from home and I'm growing my online business even more. Like you said, a big reason why I could take the leap with the online stuff was because my house is paid for and I don't need to make more than a few grand a month to live a decent life. I could not agree more that there are so many opportunities online if you learn the right skills and never give up. It's not easy at first, but once you hit on something that starts working, then you can build momentum from there. I've spent thousands of hours over the past 5 years learning SEO and other online marketing skills, but it's totally worth it, and once you get to a certain level of knowledge and knowing how to apply the knowledge, it starts to get easier. Thanks for sharing your journey, I love hearing other people's stories of finding their way to a more free life. This video is a year and a half old, how is your online business doing? If you ever want to have a private chat about online business things, I'm always up for sharing and learning other people's perspectives on things. .....Peace...... Steve Richard

I know some time has passed when you posted this video, just want to say Thank you so very much for sharing your experiences, We all need to hear how others escaped and what strategies you employed, and you do a fantastic job at walking us through, ...just curious to know if you have property taxes for your home you built? And if so, how it was calculated by your county, state?

Hi Paul, I have been considering this kind of lifestyle change as well. Planning is often difficult for me & for most of my life I've leaped before I looked. Trying to find that courage again! Always thought it would be nice to have a small community of like-minded people and to barter and share where possible. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm thinking northern arizona somewhere. Hunting & fishing is great & can find reasonable deals on property. Also considering camp hosting, or just traveling light with camper. It all sounds awesome to me. Good luck to you!
