We happened to be driving past Liechtenstein on our way to filming and came across this story. I couldn't find it online in English, so I decided to make the pit stop.

Enjoy!

“There are no witches” Sounds like witch talk to me
  • You would think that he could have cut out the middle men and just accused his debtors of being witches. It worked for King Philip IV

"Hatred and prejudice will never be eradicated. And the witch hunts will never be about witches. To have a scapegoat — that's the key." -Geralt of Rivia, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”

"shut up, crickets!" -best part of the video please tell me there will be a video about that time they sent 80 men into battle and returned with 81, or at least that it will be mentioned!

"Liechtenstein" sounds like where vampires go to retire.

This narrative touched my very soul. Man’s inhumanity to man is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing

As a young kid, I have had a fascination with Lichtenstein, not just because of its landscape or its historic civilizations, but the fact that I was on a computer quest on searching for the world's tiniest country. Lichtenstein was one of the first micronations I had the curiosity of finding and exploring on the map. Yet I literally had no idea of the history behind this micronation until I watched this video today. Now I know Liechtenstein was created out of a medieval purge led by a witch-hunting campaign that scarred thousands of people.

Out of dozens of videos I watch daily, that's... surprisingly interesting. Don't think I'll forget that now.
  • Discovered your channel through Angkor Wat video. I’ve been binging all day as I work in my garden. Listening, frequently having to stop work to look at video. Really nice work. Good for you.

When you live in a neighbouring country and it takes rare earth to realise that you know nothing about this countries history... 😯

Good stuff. For those of us who greatly enjoy history, this seems a little gem. I get the feeling you folks did your homework, did some serious digging, some real research. Thank you!
