LAY HO MA (how's it going in Cantonese)! Peanut butter is definitely not just for toast. Join me in this episode and learn how to make a deliciously nutty peanut butter udon noodles recipe today!

Ingredients:
3 tbsp peanuts
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
3 pieces garlic
2 sticks green onions
250g udon noodles
1 tbsp chili oil (   • Most addictive Red Chili Oil Recipe t...  )
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp water

Directions:
1. Bring a pot of water to boil for the noodles
2. Heat a frying pan to medium heat. Add the peanuts and white sesame seeds. Toast for 1min. Transfer to a pestle and mortar. Then, coarsely crush and set aside
3. Grate the garlic and chop the green onions
4. Boil the udon noodles for half the time to package instructions (in this case 3min)
5. Heat up the frying pan to medium low heat. Add the chili oil followed by the garlic. Cook for about 45 seconds. Then, add the sweet paprika, toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, peanut butter, and 2 tbsp water. Give the pan a good stir
6. Strain out the noodles and add to the peanut sauce. Add the green onions, turn the heat to medium, and cook the noodles for a couple of minutes while stirring
7. Plate the noodles and sprinkle over the crushed peanuts and white sesame seeds

One of the things that makes your cooking channel the BEST is that you keep instructions very minimalist, without rambling on with distracting filler conversation. Even your sideline words are brief, relevant, and to the point. I like that! Also the mellowness of the music and your vocal tone gives your videos a very peaceful, positive vibe. 👍👍👍👍
  • So nice to have a chef that doesn't yell at me. Cooking is therapy for me, your soothing voice complements this experience. Thank you and yes, I've subscribed to see more 🙏
  • Made this tonight with my daughter and we had it for dinner. Fantastic. I never would have thought that peanut butter, soy sauce, chili oil, garlic and maple syrup would work, but man it sure did. The crunchy roasted crushed peanuts. The sparkle provided by the ohopped green onions. Complex flavor. Deeply savory with sweet undertones and just an aftertaste of heat. 10/10 will make again.

My ex mother in law taught me a similar recipe. She used tahini in place of peanut butter and lots of cilantro instead of green onions. I haven’t made it in a long time so I’m completely inspired to create again using your method. Thanks for the recipe.
  • Happening tonight! I have ALL the ingredients already. My free weekend has already featured 4 of your recipes. Might as well end the weekend with a fifth! Thanks, Wil!

Love your video style. Quiet peaceful, no nonsense, clear instructions. While I am not a vegetarian, I love vegetarian dishes. This one is a KEEPER!!!
  • When you are in the kitchen, you are full of love ... i can relate to that man.
  • I am from the Caribbean and I really want to thank you for your videos. I am a person with strong Indian and Chinese ancestry however my Chinese ancestors were predominantly men and because of the era and area they came from and the type of work they did in the Caribbean they did not get to pass down much cooking information from their cultures and those of their ancestors. I've always loved all asian foods but only curries and strongly indian based cuisine was thought in my family. Since finding your channel I've been able to successfully learn how to make other types of asian foods that I've always craved but been unable to cook (would often have to buy Chinese/ Thai / Japanese type dishes). I am a lover of soups and ramen but didn't understand anything about it and since going more plant based and finding your videos I can say I've actually made some of your soup/ stock recipes and felt a different feeling of home and reconnection to my ancestors and I can finally eat the type of food I have been dreaming of since childhood thanks to your cooking. May you be blessed.
  • My mother and I made this dish. We had to double the sauce as we had 4 people and added carrots, onions and a little cabbage. So delicious!! Thanks for this great recipe. ☺️
  • One of my favorite recipes! I usually add some extra vegetables to make this a more balanced dinner. Sugar snap beans, snow peas and broccoli all match excellently.
  • @arctiknitter
Your presentation is so quiet and relaxing-no rushing around. I just love your delicious recipes.
  • Perfect timing! I was JUST about to make Pad Thai without all of the proper ingredients, but I DO have everything for this. I’ve never thought to combine peanuts and sesame seeds. So looking forward to it!
  • An absolute pleasure to watch. So calming and non complicated. Thank you

The cinematography in your videos is always so stunning! And peanut noodles are a favorite of mine! Thank you!
  • @ketanhein
I just made this tonight. It's fantastic!! I used honey instead of maple syrup and it still tastes great. I also added some ginger along with the garlic. I'll definitely be making this more often.

The peaceful atmosphere and therapeutic tone of your cooking videos is so refreshing amongst all the fast paste, competitive, scream at your food and cook everything as quick as possible or else you die cooking shows out there lol. You make cooking look and feel like the most relaxing activity. You can feel the respect and the appreciation you put into your cooking through you videos. Food deserves to be treated the way you do. Also, every recipe I tried from your chanel is absolutely delicious!!! Yummm!
