as a canadian vietnamese who is super white washed, its interesting to learn about my native country. Its an odd feeling being westernized but never really feeling like you fully belong. I feel like i left a part of my soul in vietnam and I need to go back one day to find it. The vietnamese tour guide is awesome, really knows his stuff
  • It's all now coming back to me, and everything is just like a dream ... the spectacular lantern festival in HoiAn, the thrill of walking on the Golden Bridge in BaNa Hills ... the magnificent scenery of Ha Long Bay, the breathtaking limestone mountains in Ninh Binh, the beautiful chaos of Ho Chi Minh City, and the amazing authentic Vietnamese food! It is so green over there, it's just unforgettable.

Check out Max McFarlin. He has a full exhaustive list of Vietnamese cuisine from many regions of Vietnam. If you have come to fall in love with Vietnamese food, definitely check him out. Btw, you have a very good tour guide. He's so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He knows what he's doing. Watching this video makes I miss Hanoi so much. Have fun and take care while traveling ☺️🇻🇳

I'm Vietnamese myself and my father comes from the North. I'm down with his knowledge and experience when he's sharing them with tourists. Absolutely great.

What I love about Vietnamese people is despite how difficult and bloody their even recent history has been, there's no bitterness or victimhood mentality. Also, food looks amazing. Can't wait to go myself.

One thing that many people misunderstood is "Bun bo Nam Bo" is not actually the original food of the South. The word "Nam Bo" is translated as Southern Vietnam but "Nam Bo" in this dish is the former name of a street in Hanoi which is Le Duan (the street has the train station) Anyway, very nice video and thank the vietnamese tour guide a lot for introducing the cuisine of our country
  • @kienhuong3955
The tour guide is excellent! I was so impressed with his way to introduce about Hanoi history.

You guys got a really great tour guide. He knows very well about Hanoi's culture, history, cuisine... And all he saids is very easy to understand. Hope you guys enjoin your trip in Vietnam 🇻🇳 Edit 1: I'm Hanoian or Ha Noier after 2008 (Hatay merged into Hanoi). Still many things i don't know about Hanoi, these videos helped me understand a lot.

That tour guide was awesome! What a great food tour. He was great at explaining all the details and his English was very good. Awesome video. Thank you!

the dude who introduce the "Bun Bo Nam Bo", he got it wrong. "Bun Bo Nam Bo" actually is a Beef Noodle recipe from a restaurant which was located in street call "Nam Bộ" (old name for Lê Duẩn Street). Most people in Hanoi got it wrong so cant blame him

This is a great tour. I’ve been living in Vietnam for 4 years now and have explores a lot of places, but I wouldn’t mind paying for a tour like this.
  • You are always welcomed in Vietnam. It's really warm hearted to see foreign tourists develop interest and fall in love with Vietnam, especially Hanoi for the first time they come there. As a Hanoi citizen i wish you guys all the best and a great experience in Hanoi. And don't forget to make a video about places in Hanoi. I highly reccomment visiting West lake (since i live there🤣), its really beautiful at the time

We went with Chris today 14 Jan 2024, a year after this video. He is as good as ever. His enthusiasm is infectious. Wonderful 😊

There is an alternative explanation for the origin of the first dish you tried, "bun bo Nam Bo," which some believe to be more accurate. According to this version, the dish was first created by a local family restaurant or food vendor located on a street in Hanoi's Hoan Kiem district called "Nam Bo," which translates to "Southern." This name has caused confusion among many people who assume that the dish must have originated in the southern region of Vietnam or been prepared in a southern style. Despite the confusion, the guide who introduced you to the dish was both entertaining and knowledgeable. As a Hanoian, I appreciate your open-mindedness towards exploring the culinary delights that Hanoi has to offer. As someone who has hosted friends from overseas, I know how frustrating it can be when they complain about small details like messy or dirty surroundings. I commend you for your positive attitude and willingness to embrace new experiences. Keep up the awesome attitude!
