  • It blows my mind that having saviour siblings isn’t illegal.
  • Imagine being born and your only purpose in life is to be a donor for your sibling. What a hellish loveless life that would be.

This is based on a real case out of Australia. A family's third child needed a match, and the other siblings weren't one. So they had another TWO kids to try and make a perfect match for their brother. Imagine growing up, knowing you only exist so your body parts could be taken against your will for an older sibling. Absolutely horrifying.
  • $5 says their son is being seriously emotionally neglected. Imperfect match, unwanted...unloved. I get that they're desperate, but this is despicable.
  • There needs to be laws about savor children. You need to protect all children, a child isn't just a sack of organs that you should use to save another child.
  • So she wanted to leave behind a child that would be extremely traumatized and blame herself for her mothers death, a child that was never wanted as a person and the rest of the family will blame for their mother’s death, and a child that knows he wasn’t important enough to be taken into account when his mom chose to die. I get wanting to save your child but doing so against your entire family’s wishes and traumatizing your kids in deep, terrible ways?

A mother willing to give her life to save her child is understandable. The problem is that this woman had another child plus another one she truly seems to not consider anything else apart from a tool for her daughter's survival. She's not a bad person, but she also doesn't seem to me to have a clear view of the whole situation. Edit: I know there's a novel and movie called My Sister's Keeper. I've read the first and watched the second.

I am so glad most of the comment section is in agreement. People who choose to give birth to a child to basically be an extra sack of organs and bone marrow just to help their ill sibling are insane. Let the kid live out her days as normal as possible and don't give birth to another child unless you will love them and not use them for personal gain.

There's so much wrong here! How much guilt do you think the daughter is going to have if her mother dies trying to bring to life a child that would be a donor match for her to save her life? And then the child that she's carrying realizes that she killed her mother not because her mother loved her but because her mother loved the sibling so much and she was just a means of survival for a sibling. It's absolutely disgusting
  • Their “parental” decision to use a child as a tool to help their other child is unforgivable. The one being used as a tool doesn't even have a voice. It's despicable.
  • The complete lack of disregard for the son and how this will effect him is shocking…..

I am a cancer patient who was diagnosed at 16 and am now 24. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, if my mom (whom I love more than anything) had given birth to my little sister for the sole reason being to save me, I would have thought she had gone off the deep end and would have her committed. I would rather die than watch my little sister go through so much trauma just because she feels like that is all she is worth.
  • The disregard for the son is astounding. And the lack of care for a new kid born to just be an organ donor
  • @dsaf9372
It's so disgusting to see how she cry's at the end not because she lost a baby, but because she couldn't make another child to be replacement parts.
  • @MaddysinLeigh
These are the most selfish parents I’ve seen in a long time. She’s saying she’s having a baby, but no, she’s birthing bone morrow.
  • @UpeLkUchEn
As someone who had leukemia as a child and have been in remission for quite a while, I would be horrified, furious even, if my parents ever decided to do this. Having another child for the sole purpose of donating anything for me would make me sick, I would outright refuse treatment if this ever were to happen. It’s mind blowing that this is legal, and the fact that they have no consideration, care or love for the baby is maddening to say the least. You don’t bring children into the world just so you can benefit from them. The fact that they want a newborn to donate right out of the womb is sickening and shows they have no regard for the baby’s wellbeing or future.
  • This woman didn't mention her son once when they were talking about her possibly dying and that was bad enough but at the end she doesn't even care that she lost a child but that the child can't be used to save her daughter. That is so wrong and awful of her.
  • Being born as spare parts for another person is sad and loveless.
  • This reminds me of the movie My Sister’s Keeper; that baby was not made out of love or the parents wanting another child, it was made out of the mother’s love for her daughter. That baby would’ve felt like they were only good for what they could give to their sister, not for who they could’ve been just like the sister in the movie. I admire the mother’s willingness to sacrifice herself, but she needs to think about her whole family, her other child especially, as well.
  • @Panwere36
There is so much wrong with "having a child only to save another".
