Hello friends! So, after a long break from testing out & reviewing clickbait hack videos (I think the photo and video hacks broke me), we decided to make a comeback into the genre by testing out these viral clickbait soap hacks that lots of hackers seem to love making - from Blossom to 5-Minute Crafts to Craft Factory and back. And you know me, I can't resist me some nice soap :). We tried a cloud soap hack, a gummy bear soap hack, and a cinnamon roll soap hack, and shenanigans ensued.

What do you guys think of these soap hacks??

Also, a heads up - though we mention it in the video - cinnamon can be dangerous to use on your skin and ivory soap can release fumes when being microwaved (I guess that's why it smelled so bad), so definitely be careful if you take on any of these soap art "hacks" yourself!!

Safiya mentioned that she was self-conscious of the way she enunciates her words because people make fun of her, but to be honest, I absolutely love how she speaks and her words bring a unique charm to her.
  • I know she said in her blog post that people make fun of the way she annunciates her words, but I'm hard of hearing so I actually really like it! And they add captions when they mumble or speak off camera, those accessibility adjustments make a big difference for me :)
  • They obviously give no measurements and vague instructions bc then when it doesn't work, you'll say "oh shoot.. I must have done something wrong.." instead of blame them for their fake hack.

Relationship goals: Safiya slowly walking after Tyler, arms outstretched, looking mischevious, followed by Tyler screaming off screen

I love Saf and all but can we just take a moment to appreciate that Tyler went through that video frame by frame to figure out the measurements? Damn, she really found the perfect man for her

Hi pals!! I'm a Lush Employee :) Lush doesn't use Gelatine in their Shower Jellies, as the entire store is Vegetarian, Cruelty Free, and almost completely Vegan. There's a special seaweed called Carrageenan which turns into a jelly-like texture when mixed with water, which is how we make our vegan jelly treats! It can be found in other products like shower gels and shower slimes as well.

14:56 this entire scene is just iconic The crawl, the offscreen scream, the cackle as she runs back * Chef kiss *
  • Safiya, listening to your voice while you walk through every step eases me down from anxiety and panic attacks. Thank you so much for making your videos.
  • As a non-native English speaker, I love the way Safiya talks because of how easy it is to understand and listen to while doing something else or just binge watching her videos 😭 I don’t have to put on the subtitles, and that is a VERY rare occurrence. Thank you Safiya for articulating so well and making us non-English listeners learn the language super easily! 😄💕
  • In this episode of "The Internet Lied to Me", we say goodbye to the microwave. A bear gives up it's dreams of marathon supremacy. Brambleberry takes ownership of Saf's soul. And the cinnamon challenge evolves.
  • Here's another alternative for the cinnamon: Instead of cinnamon, (which could harm ur skin) use grated or finely grated brown soap! (u can grate it urself)

I was drinking water when Tyler said, “Yeah, I enhanced that bitch.” Well, I snorted that right back up!

If anyone ever makes fun of Saf's enunciation again, I'm gonna throw hands. I love her enunciation and it's one of the reasons I love her videos so much. Being very deaf, enunciation is the best!

Been doing the ivory trick for years. It’s BEST to cut it into quarters and do one at a time. Always put it on a paper towel. And the best use for it is to crumble it into dry bits to use for homemade laundry soap. Usually you would grate it, but microwaving it saves so much time and energy!

safiya at 15:02 making her way towards tyler without any hesitation, fully fiend mode, absolutely SENDS me

Dearest Safiya, I don't care if you want to change your channel. I'm happy to follow all your interests. I'm 63 now, and still develop new interests and hobbies all the time. What I mean to say is that I believe it is natural for our passions to change over the years, but our inner core doesn't so much. So, whatever you want to show us, I still love how you do it. I happen to love this soap series, but fully expect you to come up with something else that we will all love just as much. Because we all love you and your beloved.
  • Okay but Safiya going after Tyler with her soap-sticky hands was the cutest goddamn thing

I think the most important thing these videos do (besides being funny, discovering some actual hacks, etc) is demonstrate the importance of peer review and a well-written procedure.
