I Tested Clickbait DIY Soap "Hacks"

hello friends!! hope you all are doing well & staying safe! in this video, we test out 3 ~viral~ soap hacks and regret it soon afterwards, hehe. what do you think of our attempts?? also, if you want to keep up with us in between videos you can check out my youtube or instagram stories (@safiyany)!! we try and post on there every day! xoxo, saf EDIT: also, a heads up - though we mention it in the video - cinnamon can be dangerous to use on your skin and ivory soap can release fumes when being microwaved (I guess that's why it smelled so bad), so definitely be careful if you take on any of these soap art "hacks" yourself!!

Safiya mentioned that she was self-conscious of the way she enunciates her words because people make fun of her, but to be honest, I absolutely love how she speaks and her words bring a unique charm to her.

I know she said in her blog post that people make fun of the way she annunciates her words, but I'm hard of hearing so I actually really like it! And they add captions when they mumble or speak off camera, those accessibility adjustments make a big difference for me :)

They obviously give no measurements and vague instructions bc then when it doesn't work, you'll say "oh shoot.. I must have done something wrong.." instead of blame them for their fake hack.

There's a special seaweed called Carrageenan which turns into a jelly-like texture when mixed with water, which is how we make our vegan jelly treats! It can be found in other products like shower gels and shower slimes as well.

As a non-native English speaker, I love the way Safiya talks because of how easy it is to understand and listen to while doing something else or just binge watching her videos 😭 I don’t have to put on the subtitles, and that is a VERY rare occurrence. Here's another alternative for the cinnamon: Instead of cinnamon, (which could harm ur skin) use grated or finely grated brown soap! (u can grate it urself)

If anyone ever makes fun of Saf's enunciation again, I'm gonna throw hands. I love her enunciation and it's one of the reasons I love her videos so much. Being very deaf, enunciation is the best!

Been doing the ivory trick for years. It’s BEST to cut it into quarters and do one at a time. Always put it on a paper towel. And the best use for it is to crumble it into dry bits to use for homemade laundry soap. Usually you would grate it, but microwaving it saves so much time and energy!

Dearest Safiya, I don't care if you want to change your channel. I'm happy to follow all your interests. I'm 63 now, and still develop new interests and hobbies all the time. What I mean to say is that I believe it is natural for our passions to change over the years, but our inner core doesn't so much. So, whatever you want to show us, I still love how you do it. I happen to love this soap series, but fully expect you to come up with something else that we will all love just as much. Because we all love you and your beloved.

I think the most important thing these videos do (besides being funny, discovering some actual hacks, etc) is demonstrate the importance of peer review and a well-written procedure.
