Spiderman Into the spiderverse is a subversive masterpiece of an animated film. its a movie about black spiderman Miles Morales, he is a teenager spider person and teams up with spider Gwen Stacey, Peter B Parker, Peter Porker, Peni Parker and spider noire. They all come for a different spider man universes in the MCU marvel cinematic universe. SO ON Spilling The Milk we watched the film to see if its better than Tobey Macquire or Tom Holland and reacted to it in this reaction video.

  • I think that Spider-Verse finally managed to make some people start to realize that animation is an almost limitless art form that can do so much if you can only think of it. This movie absolutely wouldn't work in live action, and if it did, it wouldn't be half as effective or visually interesting. This is basically art at its purest.

Just thinking about how Puss in Boots: The Last Wish took inspiration from this movie's animation style makes me so happy. DreamWorks executed it well by blending 2D and 3D techniques from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, but instead of that comic book aesthetic, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish looks like a painting from a book of fairy tales.

I'm sorry, the "what's up danger" bit literally killed me every time. It's such a stupidly funny bit- I love it

Funny thing was that this movie's honestly better than the Miles Morales comics themselves. Miles isn't a Peter Parker clone, Aaron's a caring uncle while being a ruthless criminal instead of being a straight up sociopath, Miles really comes into his own here with his own style, and his dad's actually alive... and a cop instead of a SHIELD agent.
  • This is the most chaotic intro ever. Jack saying what’s up danger was perfect.
  • man, i hope that man that got bageled doesn’t get too hurt and lives a good and fulfilling life lowkey
  • Peter B. Parker has become my favorite Spiderman I think. The amount of jaded smarmyness, mixed with his depressing loneliness just fit so well and i had no idea that i wanted that in a Spiderman.
  • Every time they made the "What's up danger" joke it actively inflicted physic damage on me. I flinched nearly every time no joke.
  • What's sad about this movie is that my brother doesn't like the animation style for it and I'm just like HOW!? The animation for it was amazing. I didn't even know the second movie was out rn.
  • Spider-Verse was such a turning point in the world of animated movies. The way it leans so heavily into stylized visuals and found success because of it has made it more common now instead of trying to chase realism and that's so nice. I love animation so much and I love everything this movie has done for it.

Fun Fact: Towards the end of the movie when Miles swings up to the top of the Collider Peter B. and Gwen mention not teaching him how to do that Miles actually learned it from seeing his universe's Peter swing up there earlier in the movie.

11:30 Did you know, in this scene Miles is on 12 fps while Peter is on 24 fps. This is to show how Peter is better than Miles, who just began swinging.
  • I don't care what anyone says. This is the best Spider-Man film to date and generally one of the best movies I've seen period. The art style, the humor, emotions, storytelling, voice-acting, score, music all just come together perfectly. Also Hailee Steinfeld supremacy.
  • I JUST watched the sequel and HOLY HECK. You guys have GOT to watch it. It's so good!
  • Alternate title: We tried to say “What’s up danger” 50 times while watching Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
  • The What's Up Danger scene will ALWAYS give me goosebumps. Truly one of the best cinematic scenes I’ve seen, the music, sound engineering, writing, animation and movement and direction all just fit together so perfectly. I can't wait to see them react to the sequel!
  • Across the spider-verse is an absolute banger of a sequel
