Zack Snyder gives us part 2 of his Star Wars inspired fan fic. Is it any good? Does it feel like it's leading anywhere worth looking forward to? Here's my review for REBEL MOON - PART 2: THE SCARGIVER!

Netflix could have made the remaining 3 seasons of MindHunter from the budget of this movie. Let that sink in.
  • I think that whenever Zack Snyder has a pen in his hand, someone needs to be there with him with a spray bottle and say “NO! Bad Zack Snyder!”

I liked the part where the villain said "it was you! You were the scargiver this whole time" and then Sofia Boutella was like "thats right, and now it's time for this moon... to rebel" and then they start rebelling and mooning all over the place
  • Calling this lady Scar Giver is like giving John Wick the nickname Pencil Pusher.

"Snyder needs better writers" is such a great line considering he was the writer for this😂

The tragedy of Zack Snyder is that he is too big to ever let someone else write his movies, which is the very thing he desperately needs.
  • Jeremy talking about memorable character nicknames and referencing Daenerys's titles in "Game of Thrones" instantly made me think of Jaime Lannister's unwanted "nickname" of "Kingslayer", which had so much backstory and character development surrounding it while simultaneously sounding epic.
  • "Everyone's in slo-mo, Dash." "Which is another way of saying no one is."

“The most anticipated number 2 of the year” is such an underrated line 😂

The best use of slow-mo in any movie is in Dredd...

“Why not call her the Dentist?” I laughed SO HARD at this. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Didn't expect a Broforce reference in 2024. Well done, Jeremy

I’m honestly grateful for “Rebel Moon” it has completely destroyed the idea of Zach Snyder being some cinematic genius. We seemed to have collective amnesia of Sucker Punch.
  • @ryderls2729
It's insane to me that Snyder apparently wants to make 6 of these, he really did peak in 300

"Behold, my field of f***s is barren, for I have no more left to give." Essentially my thoughts during the Mediocre Seven's exposition scene.

You know a movie doesn’t offer much of anything if Jeremy spends about 1/3 of this video just making fun of the main character’s nickname
  • @TwinsenR
This movie, both parts, would be the ultimate drinking game. Take a shot, everytime there's a slow-motion shot. Sadly, you'd be dead by the halfway mark of Part 2.

The film should have been called Rebel Moon - Part 2: Epic Slow-Mo Farming Simulator
  • @giddeo
Why? Why is this happening again? If ever there was evidence that Zack is sleeping with someone at Netflix, this is it. Jeremy plays Bro Force!!! Ooh you have earned your brownie points, that game is so good

Lots of these characters I kept asking, "why are you here?" And not in a narrative way, with their backstories, but a meta-narrative way with the plot. For example: Oceans Eleven has a ton of characters doing a heist, but each one had a specific set of skills and was necessary to do a specific part of the plan. Sometimes more than one part, but each one was indispensible. In Rebel Moon, what was the absolutely necesssary skill that each person brought? Why did we need all these characters? I don't need backstory if each has a skill and a personality. I don't know Don Cheadle's backstrory in Oceans 11, but he was the demolitions guy that was going to give them their power outage window. I wanted him to succeed because without him the plan would fail. I never felt that with these side characters. I get you have a "main character," but if the others aren't indispensible, then you should cut them from the script and streamline the story.
