In my 55 gal I made a forest of "trees" with different sizes of cholla wood with crypts growing out the tops. They do so well and are huge now, looks almost like palm trees. With the large quartz tips in the hardscape, it gives it a surreal fantasy vibe and the fish love swimming through the forest!

So glad you added the little grass tufts. It definitely made the scape more cohesive. The balance still feels off a smidgen... Needs a small point of interest on the right-hand side. Love this moss tree, though!

How coincidental that I ordered Lemon Tetra and Cherry barb on the weekend, and now I see a video where you mention both (and get Cherry!)

This scape is wonderful, and the cherry barbs are perfect for it! Something that would also make a cool bonsai tree would be to use plants that would hang down from the branches to give a willow-like appearance. Nano fish swimming through the hanging "branches" would be like birds flying through the tree. Keep up the great work on your channel. It's one of my favorites.

Add yellow, orange or red cherry shrimp would add color to the tree as they grazed on the moss, like fruit hanging on a tree. Plus they would help with the algae. Like the the scape simple and not expensive. They do have wood that shaoed like a bonsai tree you could buy.

You are right that this is an aesthetic aquascape and it looks great. I have just finished breeding some Endler Guppies and now have two 25 litre tanks free. I am going to create my own bonsai scape in one of them.

This seriously made me miss my bonsai tank, and miss my fish even more. I made mine out of moss balls using a stock tree I got from someone off Facebook lol. It looked awesome, though, and I was so proud of it. Maybe someday I’ll be able to get back into the hobby, just not right now, sadly.
