His voice is so incredibly soothing.

I recently realized how fervent and impactful that sudden guitar interlude at the very end of the song is. Just as Orville is about to sing the word "cry", the music immediately deflects and becomes something totally discordant from the rest of the song, representing in musical form how unacceptable it is for a man to display emotional weaknesses like crying by concealing those "weak" feelings. Absolute genius.

If I could decide, I would select this album for preservation in the National Recording Registry. Robbins' Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs (1959) is already there. Peck is 2019 version.

He has such an amazing voice. His voice reminds me of Roy Orbison! One of the best singers ever.
