Mokgerehli Sekgobela better known as “Mough Mokgerehli” is a South African singer, songwriter and dancer. She was born in Limpopo but raised in Johannesburg, Alexandra Township.
Mough’s destiny to be a musician was written in the stars as her mother literally sang her labour pains away while about to birth Mough Mokgerehli. And her everyday life since this fateful day would be filled with music, from her mother playing cassettes all day while she attended to her house chores, to her grandmother who sang and danced for “The Mahotela Queens”.
The talent evidently runs in the family because her mother and brother played drums and her father played guitar.
