We are getting very close to completing the 5 acre pond! As soon as the dock is finished I plan on turning the well on 24/7 to fill the pond. We plan on stocking baitfish this Winter.

The major storms are almost a blessing, showing where the weak edges are and saving you headache and money in the future repairing them then.

It doesn't surprise me these videos got you on trending. This is the series I discovered your channel on, and is currently the series I look forward to the most every week. Can't wait to see this pond filled up!
  • @burntsilverado
It's Sunday, where is the new video? I've been waiting all week lol.
  • @masonturner75
Man, I have looked forward to Monday mornings for so long to watch your next video... I was sad this morning when there isn't a new one.
  • I highly recommend 1/2" spaced hardware cloth on the bottom 2 feet of the coop. Those racoons can reach through that mesh and it won't be good. Trust me, I've seen exactly what racoons are capable of doing. Love the vids!

It seems to me like that area with a lot of erosion is going to be a constant problem so instead of trying to stop the flow I would suggest making it into a creek inlet with lots of gravel and rocks to slow the flow

    Bama bass withdrawals… it’s a real thing
  • @reggieragan9242
This can’t be the final chapter! Really want to see you guys filling that beauty up, Bonnie and Clyde being introduced to their new home, and duck updates! Keep it rolling!

I’m going through pond video withdrawals. I have no idea what to do with my Sunday nights now. Can’t wait to see future videos.
  • On the island, my daughter (8 years old) thinks that you should plant two oak trees so you can have a hammock for a napping spot some day. Your pond series is awesome. Thanks.
  • @jamesfrost7465
Let's think of this as the end of chapter one. We have a lifetime together to watch the pond fill, populate, swim, fish, the water to clear, Ducks to raise and multiply, watch your beautiful family grow, barbecues, parties, RC sailboats, bass fish to grow and grow and grow! Many more chapters to enjoy!

    1. Fill back in the eroded gully with clay and place the flexamat, just like you protected the spill way. 2. Sara should pick the final name of the ducks. 3. I support the motion for an update on the backyard pond. 4. Please, consider posting an additional video mid-week. Perhaps a shorter version featuring your original pets. 6. Yours is now my favorite channel on YT. Keep up the good work! Thanks!
  • What an awesome place for a little kid to grow up. Sarah will have a blast. Reminds me of goin to my grandparents' south Georgia pecan farm as a child. Great memories.

You might need to cut a trench to help divert the water away from the pond and over into the creek instead to help control that runoff. That second huge owl is a Great Horned Owl, the biggest ones in the US and they are actually the biggest raptors in the US other than condors. Rock would help with the erosion as well, river rock about 2 inch in diameter typically holds up pretty well.
  • @wgdhex
Have you considered mounting or painting a depth gauge on the the side of the overflow pipe similar to what you see on bridges?
  • @oldladyfish
You may have to install a riff raft rock collection channel that looks like a water fall running down and into the hill; it will collect the water where it naturally flows and the rocks will slow and soften the speed of water as it drains into to the pond. It will be a contrasting section of the pond where fish that like to hang around rocks and nest in rocks will have somewhere to go.

After going through an emotional roller coaster online.. watching this amazing lake build is such a good distraction from heart break. Thank you for the pond updates. ❤️ You brighten a lot of our days.
