The first music disc that’s not by C418, did surprisingly extremely well
  • The Nether isn’t actually naturally hot, they just played Pigstep for a year straight

the fact that pigstep was so well received while going up against the nostalgia of the C418 tracks is a testament to Lena Raine's skill

there's a reason the only music disc that's this fire is found in the nether
  • That feeling when the music you made for a popular indie game is so good you get to make music for the popular indie game.

I've been unironically listening to this outside of minecraft. Never done that with an in-game disc before, this slaps.

after three years this still tickles my ears, good job, Lena.
  • The fact this disc has a COMPLETELY different vibe from the other discs, makes this one, one of my favourites

Unlike many people, i really love the fact that this music disk stands out, of course it isn't calming as the other ones, but i think its on purpose, it would make sense that the NETHER music discs would be radically different than OVERWORLD music discs, while the overworld ones are calming as the overworld generally is, the nether discs would be more active and all of that, like the nether generally is. i also think that theres a bit of that in the disc's design too, i mean pigstep is the only disc that isn't black, meaning it already stands out, i do really think that if there ever is another nether disc it will have roughly the same design as pigstep, and probably will have the same vibe as pigstep.
