Silent Hill 2 - The Nurses HD

The Nurses in Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 are bone chilling. In 2, they have a sexualized design, obviously representing James' sexual frustration. And yet, they have deformed and monstrous physical traits and very disturbing mannerisms, convulsing, twitching, and lurching at you while maniacally swinging pipes. Nurses are seen as caretakers, gentle and kind, but when these things approach you and loudly shriek at you? It's unsettling. The audio design around them? Fucking perfect, in the distance, all you hear is faint twitching noises, loud shrieking, and then when they approach, each click of their heels gets under your skin. In 3, the nurses are hunched over, their frame positioned on a way that completely obscures their face, which is very threatening. But that creepy constant heavy breathing they do?? Its the ONLY sound they eve make, its literally burned into my brain Team Silent were smart in giving you indicators where you know EXACTLY what monster you're up against based on just a single sound they make (again, smart audio design). They don't walk, they slowly lumber towards you, somewhat twitching with every step. The contrast so well with 2's nurses - they aren't sexualized anymore, but they are infinitely more creepier, almost like you should see nurses as naturally malevolent.

Interesting how James doesn't even question if the nurses are human. He just knows right away just by the weird twitching.

the nurses of silent hill 2 are more terrific and hideous than the third chapter, the voice is their voice is more monstrous and the noises they cause when moving are more centered, like real decomposing corpses, those of silent hill 3 in comparison, are by-products of horror .... when you hit them, they emit almost orgasmic moans, instead they are more "animalistic" and more appealing

I remember the reason my brother bought silent hill 2 in the first place was because I had seen a game magazine showcasing silent hill 2 and the nurse pictures freaked the hell out of me that I began crying while we were driving on a bright summer day …… normally after that day I was afraid of the dark ……..
