V6 corolla making mounts for the 3800 ecotec engine

Published 2021-07-05
This is my process to set up the engine in the perfect location. Once everything is mm perfect its time for the CAD (cardboard aided design). Cut some steel a few taps with the welder and DA DAH engine mounts.

Seems you, Alex, and I all face the same issues. I've still cut the most out of the firewall and trans tunnel, but you and Alex are definitely fighting for second. I see your little cowl clearance too, but I def take that crown. Steering rack woes I also understand. I've been grinding more and more of my mount too. I also think we've taken similar amounts out of our subframes. If all three of us got together to do a custom engine swap, it would probably be done in a week. Imagine the AUS/CAN/USA collaboration! Lastly, I'm also banking on the "reasonable amount of clearance considering how solid these engine mounts are gonna be" hahaha. AKA like a few mm here and there. Nice work man! I'm still working on all my little angles. More progress for both of us soon hopefully.
  • Allot of time invested in making mounts properly. Good explanation on how to do it
  • Love all your work man, good to see you back into the YouTube vids. Are you editing on the computer still or just using your phone?
