OH HELL NO! A dealership (Stealership) that told someone to have their car repossessed so they could buy their car deserves ZERO protection and ought to be put on BLAST! That is NUTS! Many years ago I returned a vehicle I could not afford and it RUINED my credit for YEARS! Yeah that dealership is EXACTLY what people think of when they think of sleezy dealers.
