4 years to make the album. it is quite obvious that no one else controls the portishead machine except themselves. i cant say the same about other people that make music.

'It's out but it's beautifully in, with it's outness'. 'If you were into Sting, which I'm not, but if you were....' Such brilliant quotes.

Portishead are quality musicians that only put out quality art. Thanks for making the sour time's more life affirming.
  • Why do things from 2008 now look like 1988. I was there in that time. Video wasn't that crappy then... was it?

Fascinating interview, this is the first time I've ever seen a synth set up like this. I wondered how they created such incredible sounds on Third. 4 years of work...wow.

I'm not at all sure what other commoners, affluent and/or afficionados consider modern day musical genius, but it's quite clear to me that Reznor, Utley, Chemical Brothers, Dan the automator and Dj Muggs are the modern day virtuosos when it comes to production and perfection.

that stuff about the creative process, being stuck, aiming for a particular thing, this is what i love to hear about in interviews it’s inspiring and shows sometimes it’s a slog from one end to the other. not some magical five minute song that wrote itself
