  • Brilliant! I think more companies should follow Sandy's logic. Hey Apple, please fire your entire chip architecture team. They've done a great job and built some of the best chips in the world, so you should be good for a while! 🤣
  • @bhupindertube
As an engineer manager: Once you fire engineers, you'll not gonna be able to easily replace them when you got the money. It takes years to train an engineer to the specific requirements of that company. Unlike marketing & sales!
  • Wow! He didn’t just drink the Elon cool-aid he straight up snorted a gallon of cool-aid powder before this video lmao! 😂 So much of what he’s saying flies in the face of basic logic! For starters, Tesla does have the most reliable charging network THANKS TO THE TEAM WHO MAINTAINS THOSE CHARGERS. How in earth do you expect the reliability to stay high when you fired that team of people? I could go on here, but it’s not worth it. This guy is off his rocker.

Sorry Sandy - you missed the mark on this one. I also worked in the Auto Industry for both GM and Ford for over 30 years. This was not a business decision, it was a power trip. Tesla does need a team to interface with all of these new customers, the other OEMs, in order to ensure that their vehicles can work with the Tesla Superchargers and the network. There are a whole host of issues that must be managed, from billing to ensuring that the cables can reach the charging ports on the car. This is in addition to making sure that the new NAC Standard does, in fact, work like a standard. This stuff doesn't just happen, it takes teams of people working together to identify and fix the issues.
  • Sandy says "I'm not talking about emotions! Just Business!" In a very emotional tone LOL.
  • @wwatts
I was on the charging team from 2016-20. Let me tell you that maintaining that uptime doesn’t just happen, it is about intensive and proactive maintenance, by a team that is no longer there. Keeping ahead of congestion, the other main advantage of the supercharger network, requires site acquisition and deployment teams, which made up the VAST majority of the people let go. Expanding existing stations is quite often impossible and I find it highly unlikely they will be able to keep pace with demand leaning on that alone(hell many urban locations were already fighting congestion). I get cuts, but liquidating the entire team will absolutely hurt the user experience of charging, and fast. Charging was the main thing, from the user perspective, that Tesla did far better than everyone else, and that won’t be true for very much longer.
  • @sheepcute
Heh that lasted long. Video unlisted lol
  • That is the Jack Welch school of business. Exactly what brought brought both GE and Boeing to their knees.
  • @EspHack
miss the late 2020's on this channel, so much to learn, anyway, time to move on
  • @samuelprice538
You've had a few dumb takes over the years but this is up there is the top 10.
  • @kdreed96
I can see why Corey bounced. This guy is a loon.
  • @socalsp3
He doesn't sound biased at all 😂
  • @kickithard
To say that the Tesla charging system is perfect and will never need any further development is preposterous. Especially coming from Sandy Munro.
  • @cengeb
We can now call Sandi "The fonze"....he has finally jumped the shark.
  • @pepoqoio7973
"I'm telling you right now, you should start believing in him, today would be a good day." Sounds like a new religion.
  • @ckhayne2
Hey Sandy, why did they let staff go at the Collision Centers when they were behind and short staffed already??
  • @cheetabrad
Talking about fiduciary duty when the CEO constantly wants insane amounts of compensation. Good one.
