Video shows what is really under the skin of a 911 when compared to a Boxster or Cayman. Also shows how a 911 costs less to produce than a Boxster or Cayman.

As a former Porsche technician, I can confirm you are correct on all counts in your analysis. Outstanding review!!

I bought a 718 Cayman S new as my first Porsche and as a "stepping stone" to a 992 911 Carrera T, but I quickly changed my tune after the first 1000 miles. I'm keeping my Cayman, flat 4 turbo and all because I love the damn thing. Perfect size. It's legitimately fast. Handling is perfection. And it sounds great even as a 4 cylinder. The fact that I specced it out to be exactly what I wanted means that I formed some sort of emotional connection to it. There's just something about buying your first Porsche and speccing it exactly the way you want it to be.

Why am I seeing this guy's channel for the first time?!? and why does he have only 2.5k subs? :( Great video, I loved it.

The poor man's Porsche ? Rather the smart man's Porsche, no ? Porsche"s marketing department is laughing all the way to the bank... Thank you so much Mr. Richardson for all your videos !

This video was just shared in a Boxster owners Facebook group and after watching, I immediately logged into YouTube to subscribe to your channel. I can’t thank you enough for making this video. I love deep dives into everything from baseball stats to melodic death metal. You didn’t just get into the weeds, you expertly navigated them. I actually feel better educated about Porsche after watching this. Job well done, Sir. 👏👏

You can even program certain control modules in the 981 as 991. I changed the programming of the electronic power steering module in my 981 to the GT3 calibration using PIWIS and I am really enjoying the steering feel. It's heavier at low speed but I feel like it gives me more feedback especially when cornering at higher speed.

Nice deep-dive. I almost didn't click the click-bait title of this video, but I'm glad I did, now.

This is excellent, thank you for the time and effort you put into all of your videos for the 981 platform. You are a truly a great resource for these amazing cars.
  • @Jimjef
How.do you only have 4k subscribers? I feel like I hit the jackpot finding you. I'm a skilled technician and geek out on stuff like this. You're the opposite of Stradman. No show, all go. Love it.

I have a 991.2 and I always thought they shared 80% of the parts. Porsche is the king of profit but damn they make great cars.

Another great video Jeff. As a Base 981 Cayman owner, who does all my own maintenance, I must agree on the build quality of Porsche, it's very good. Most panel what need to be removed for access come off and go on easily. The structure is also well made. The only disappointment I have had with my Cayman is my Headlining dropped. Removal, recover and replacement completed for less than 10% of the Porsche quote. This is the first maintenance task I have done without your guidance. All other tasked done after watching and following your guidance videos, many thanks. As for the performance of my 2.7 Cayman, it puts a smile on my face each and every time I drive it and can't see that a 911 could do anything more. With 2 stowage compartments we can pack safely for a week away with an esky, coffee machine and pillow and of course clothes!

This channel should be wayyyyy bigger than it is. Your work is great. Thanks for taking the time to make all these awesome videos.

I will probably never see all those videos, but I must say it: thank for all your efforts in making so much content about Porsche Cayman!

The 986/996 production line revamp in the 90s started this. What you’ve done is amazing and I for one really appreciate your efforts in this. I’m currently buying a 987.2 Boxster S for the 3.4 engine alone, with no roof! Can’t wait to hear the wailing flat 6 again.

Stumbled to your website today. WOW. I really could have used you when I bought my first 911 in 1980. I had to learn the hard way. And like you, my hobby was finding out how the car was built. I will be 70 this year. No P car in my life as I have retired overseas (Ex England, Canada,, Australia (Perth). Your videos will keep me well entertained and educated in my retirement. Thank you. Excellent work.

Wonderful! I’m more proud now to be a 981 owner. I love your videos! Keep the embers from burning!

Probably the best YouTube auto review I have ever seen. Thanks.

Awesome video Jeff. You're really getting down in to the nitty gritty which few people do. I appreciate all the research and facts that you're presenting to us.
