ABOUT LISA:
Lisa is arguably the happiest music teacher on the planet. We can’t prove it, but we’d be willing to bet on it. With a background in classical and contemporary vocal training and a love for popular music, Lisa Witt focuses on helping her students uncover their own, unique sound and develop their voice with simple routines and tips for faster results. Her personal singing journey started filled with intimidation and fear about “singing out loud”. Lisa’s desire to find confidence led her to discover HOW her voice works (physically) and gained newfound confidence and passion to perform in her discoveries that she now shares in her lessons. Lisa is a singer-songwriter who values singing as a therapeutic release for communicating harder emotions.

There's something special about your tutorials whether it's piano or singing. You add the warmth and human elements to everything you do. Love your interpretation on the song. And your little run at 9:37 is my favorite part. Your pup is so cute.
  • We used to play the humming game when I was a child and I remember having to guess what my mom was humming and then taking my turn. It was a win win because if I guessed it, I felt like a had a small victory. But also when my mother guessed what I was singing I felt like I had succeeded in communicating with her that tune. So it was a fun game and it's a great way to teach children to sing if you already have that skill. I never had a formal voice training lesson and I'm a little old for it now because I'm 71, but I've been told by many people professionals in the field that I have the best one. Well, the folk singer said had the best natural voice folk voice it ever heard and the jazz singer said had the best natural jazz voice. I have he ever heard and the country singer said you have the best natural country singer I ever heard. But truthfully, I just had a mom who taught me when I was two and three and four and then now that I'm 71 I've lost a lot of that range and I doubt that lessons would do me any good at this point. But you know I was poor. I never could afford any formal training. I learned to play guitar minimally but you know we all have gifts and some people. They just need a little stimulation of that gift and they can become very good at what they do. I don't think that everybody is cut out to be a singer, but if you have the gift you can stir it up within you and training is a good thing. I wish that everyone would have had a mom like mine to train them. My mom actually her voice was pretty good but I feel like I stood on her shoulders and my daughter is amazing. She can sing and I taught her but I had three kids and I tried that game with all three of my kids and only one of them really had the gift. That was kind of the way it was with my mom too because she had six kids and only two of us became singers but she had to gift of teaching

I have been looking for many versions of this song for a long time, some are sung very lightly, some are sung very heavily, but these are not the feeling I want, until I found you, I love the way you sing, I hope to hear the full version sung by you, thank you

I've listened to some of these lessons a few times now and I can already tell a difference in my voice. Controlling my inflections has always been a struggle but somehow Lisa has helped me in a very short time to get it smoothed out. She mainly instills confidence that it can be done. Thank you!!

You teach singing very well. I have never met a singing teacher who taught you so beautifully. You are not only a teacher who not only pays attention to the accuracy of note reading, but also emphasizes the beautiful pronunciation of the sentences that makes the singing more beautiful. Your teaching technique is unique. I am glad to meet you on YouTube. I am a guitarist, and I love singing, and learning to sing. I hope to see more tutorials from you. Thank you very much. 👏👏👏🌹🌹😍😍👍🙏

Your singing teaching is so practical to the point that how are we going to learn in singing for that song! So helpful indeed!

To give credit where credit is due, this song was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss, and the melody is based on "Plaisir d'amour," a popular French love song composed in 1784 by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini.
