Samantha Woll Trial -- Ex boyfriend returns to the stand

Published 2024-06-18
Michael Jackson-Bolanos, 29, is charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, and lying to a peace officer after he allegedly stabbed Woll in her Detroit home in October 2023. She was found dead outside her residence in the 1360 block of Joliet Place.

Jackson-Bolanos was arrested several weeks later amid speculation that Woll's murder was a hate crime due to her position within metro Detroit's Jewish community. However, Detroit police said later on they don't believe that to be the case.

That bf is suspect to me. If he didn’t do it how dumb can you be to admit it. Meds or not! He compromised the case with his foolishness. What did she see in him?

This defense attorney made me laugh when he actually thought a person continues to metabolize medication after their death. I don’t think he’s that smart. Amazing!
  • Immunity!!? They gave him immunity! So that he could stand up and actually say , yep i did it and they cant prosecute him!! WTH?? Immunity!? Why? Because he works for the city of Detroit!?

Nitpicky but saying “have you ever cane over her house” not correct grammar.

idk if this trial isnt over yet they must have something crazy on the defendant because this doesnt look right at all

Defense, if going to accuse witness of something nefarious get the name right. The witness didn’t have to but he helped out by saying after realizing could be Martin not Marvin. Defense such an a-hole. I get trying to show his client innocent and this guy did it but just looks like a fool attacking him about stupid stuff. So what if he wanted parents to tell job that had nervous break down. Seems reasonable to me. Trying to trip him up, making a big deal out if panic attack or nervous break down just makes him look a fool. Who the f’ cares. Focusing on such a stupid issue makes look like so desperate. Relevant things could have asked but didn’t. He touched on him having nine but never took it further that could have used bike to go to Sam’s as witness himself says had opportunity. It’s hard to listen to his cross as it’s awful. Which is unfortunate as would like to see if any issues with his testimony if done by a decent lawyer.

I feel sorry for him. How scary. I can’t imagine what it woukd feel like to have my mind betray me line that.
  • In all criminal trials the defense attorney always seek facts that create reasonable doubt. You don't have to prove reasonable doubt. You simply create the atmosphere of reasonable doubt. Even if the defense attorney loses he can still use reasonable doubt to introduce mitigating factor during sentencing. I'm shocked that the prosecutor allowed this into evidence. I made a comment not more than a week ago that all criminal trials are actually won or lost during pretrial not during trial. This is a prime example. The prosecutor screwed up by not keeping that evidence out. The guy made be found guilty but he will certainly get post conviction relief.
