We've been enjoying The English Beat's "Save it for Later" tacked on to the end of Pearl Jam's Better Man for decades. At long last Eddie Vedder has made a studio recording, and in about 6 minutes you're going to know how to play it on your guitar!

Thought you weren't gonna do this one so soon, figured you would.. . . save it for later.
  • Have you tried DADAAD tuning (Your G becomes an A)? That's the English Beat / Pete Townshend tuning. It sounds to me like Vedder is mirroring the Townshend version.
  • @ztienapm
It’s not in DADAAD like the original and Townshend versions?
  • @swans07
Ed has covered the Pete Townsend version where tunes 2 strings to A (he says) but can’t see which ones
  • @adamschles
This was beast-mode guitar teaching. Nice work!
  • @wraith_1171
So.....the tuning is actually D-A-D-A-A-D, saw an interview with Dave Wakeling some years ago where he talked about it
  • Great cover! Thanks for posting but let’s give credit where It’s due….Eddie stole/borrowed this version of SIFL from Pete Townsend’s 1986 Deep End Live album…both amazing covers!!

Wait that song the (english) Beat sings? You gotta read the actual lyrics. They say naughty things.

Thank you for the video. I actually looked up how to play this yesterday and found this that I thought you might find interesting there’s a story under the music and lyrics section that talks about the DADGAD tuning theory but for the original version. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Save_It_for_Later
