I think there’s a huge shift happening. We are slowly fighting back against the system that wants us up so early in the morning and working into the night. Not enjoying our life. Not enjoying our family and friends. I have recently quit my job due to the hour demands it had, not mindful scheduling at all. In doing that I’ve talked to several friends who’ve also quit to my surprise because of the same reasons. I definitely see a shift happening. Life is precious, and you only get one shot at it that we know of. So quit that job that doesn’t make you happy, life will figure itself out as long as you put in the effort to change.

I love this idea of slow living movement. I think people are addicted to being busy in order to feel productive.

"I don't want to rush through life." I felt this. I rush through the week just so I can enjoy the weekends.

I have been living in extreme materialism before....started to make big changes 10 years ago....and now it is time to go off grid. I just want my own small yard, some animals, some remote work and peace.

I used to live in the city where life is busy, but now I live by the sea , living a simple life and I have found my peace here . Let go of your ego and your life will become smooth and full of meaning.

I live in Florida and we have a lot of wild birds. In the morning they seem to all come out and sing to each other before most people are even up. So I sit on my back porch with my coffee in hand and close my eyes and try to listen to each individual chirp. I find it both amazing and relaxing.

"Only in silence with ourselves, we can hear our own voice." Love this very much💓
  • Nowadays people want to chase things that other people have in their lives. But we often forget ourself in the process of achieving something. This pandemic has given a chance to look within.

I started crying watching this video. It has become more evident to me that this way of living, or thinking, is something I have been seeking my entire life. As a little girl I always dreamed about living around trees, listening to the rain, gardening and living without the rules of that have been placed upon us. Somewhere along the way my vision was blurred, I won't say lost because it was still there and I found ways to tap into it. But I also found ways to fill myself with temporary happiness by drinking and partying way too much. I got validation from being in the "mix", dating around, working long hours and spending money. It wasn't until about 7 years ago I started to pull myself out of the matrix and try and reconnect with who I am, who I really am. It has been a slow learning process but I can feel the shift and videos like this make that even more evident to me, and when I reflect back it has always been in me. And I just am so grateful that God and the universe have introduced me to the slow living movement and I am excited to see how I can incorporate it into my life. Thank you.
  • "Rivers know this: There is no hurry. We shall get there some day." Thank you so much for this beautiful message of slow living 🙏 much love from Poland 🇵🇱.

I had no idea slow living was an entire movement! I've been trying to slow down (both life and my mind) and live in a simpler way, and knowing it goes beyond the living in the woods or moving to Iceland to heard sheeps, well, it's been a welcome surprise. Thank you for giving me a name for this in this gorgeous, peaceful video :')

Every morning I intentionally carve out hours to be alone. After I get my husband off to work I sit with my Bible, spiral notebook, phone, and coffee (black). I pray for the world, my family, for truth to be revealed. I listen quietly. Lately I've been reading the prophecies in the Old Testament, researching lost books of the Bible, discovering truth (facing it, not being overwhelmed, but empowered). Quietness is imperative to hear from the still small voice of God within.

One thing that makes me happy is taking my time in the morning. This is so soothing. Thank you.

3:47 Tip 1: Spend time alone 4:44 Tip 2: Don’t pay too much attention to the metrics 5:32 Tip 3: Eliminate one thing from your check-list 6:53. Tip 4: Do at least one thing a day that makes you happy Thank you for sharing, Sophie. I've recently decided to adopt the slow living lifestyle, and what you share inspires me. With the pandemic, I've rediscovered my introverted side. I love spending time alone! During my me-time, I'm now experimenting with doing less, doing it more slowly, but doing it with more intention. One thing in my day that makes me happy (I'm sure you can relate) is my first cup of coffee in the morning. I use an Aeropress, and manually grind the specialty coffee beans. All in all, it takes about 5 minutes. But I really enjoy the process, and once I take the first sip of that black gold, I feel I really earned it ☕.
  • This video hit the core of my thinking. I wish more people realize these deep life lessons and make it more deeply meaningful.
  • "We can't be reduced down to a number"..such profound words. Thank you. Many more blessings!
