I heavily debated calling this A Man Who Hates Bad Writing Plays Heavy Rain. It is absolutely bad writing, but the game is so absolutely bad and stupid that I felt calling it that would be letting it off easy hahaha. It's mad to think that this game was so critically acclaimed back in the day

The moment i realised this game was a masterpiece was when The Detective looks up at the overcast sky and says "huh, Heavy Rain". Iconic.

I'm really impressed by the writer's commitment to making a game without a single natural human interaction

1:27:25 Things Madison knows about Ethan: - His name is Ethan - He’s not the origami killer (she can prove it) Things Ethan knows about Madison: - Has trouble sleeping Truly the fundamental building blocks of a budding romance

As a bird owner, the death there is super accurate. They look absolutely fine and then suddenly they're either dead or super sick. They hide illness & injury like no other.
  • Small fun fact about Ethan’s blackouts! Originally he was supposed to be psychically linked to the origami killer but because they couldn’t form a cohesive story around that half way through the game Ethan just stop’s having blackouts and it’s never mentioned again in game ☝🏻
  • That car stopped for Jason. The only way he could have died there is if Ethan slammed him headfirst into the pavement and then chucked him under the car
  • So the entire point of Madison’s dream fight sequence was to see a woman naked, then watch her get brutalized…how wonderful.

“The teacher yelled at me for being late again. Next time it happens she’s gonna send me home.” Simultaneously the dumbest and most realistic line in the game
  • Remember that glitch that made you scream shaun the entire game i think it was the most memorable part of the game

the imagery of ethan grabbing jason before the car hits only to twist around and use jason as a meat shield is really funny to me
  • I figured out why Detroit Become Human is such a good "game" now, it took him a lot of failed attempts before just deciding to make his characters robots to get around all the terrible interactions

When RT said he was going to sit there a moment after reading the note, my computer was in the process of a hard-crash. It sat there for about 4 minutes with complete silence until the blue windows screen popped up. The whole time I was thinking, "He's really commiting to this bit."
  • David Cage has no idea how anything works. Human emotions, women, children, mental health, ai, medicine, alternate reality, phones, origami, electricity, police, women again for good measure....

Interesting fact about this game, they never explained why Ethan has these random blackouts that happen for no reason and stopped happening. Apparently, when Jason died, Ethan made a spiritual bond with a serial killer. Everytime this killer goes on committing murders, Ethan would go to the memories of said killer and see the latest victim. He then wake up to the place of significance of the killer, holding an Origami in one hand. Seriously look up supernatural cut content of Heavy rain.
  • @Ryodren
Can't believe RT subconsciously knew who the killer was from the very beginning based solely on the panic he experienced during each Scott loading screen.

I love How in every movie, whenever something tragic happens, the main character goes from living in Silicon Valley to living in Staten Island.
  • @AkashWShah
There's something profoundly hilarious about watching the AIs in the background walk into each other and struggle to pathfind while Ethan's wife is sobbing over her dead child.

Fun fact if you haven’t seen it, there’s an infamous glitch in one of the final scenes. If you hold L2 and call “Shaun” at a certain point, you have access to the prompt to do the Shaun yell over and over again for the rest of the scene. Genuinely one of the funniest glitches out there. It’s usually referred to as “press x to Shaun” if you want to see it for yourself.

I love how Ethan just stopped doing CPR on his dying son and just started crying instead of waiting 10 more seconds
