The Pinova Chemical Plant in Brunswick, Georgia. The Plant announced it was closing following a major fire. Pinova then started moving forward with the demolition of the chemical plant. This Plant has been here for more than 100 years.
Formally the Hercules Brunswick Plant, this facility used pine tree stump extracts for various chemical and rosin related products. We will cover more of the history of this plant in upcoming videos and livestreams.
The clean up has started so lets jump in and watch some of the process. Heavy equipment working to remove the debris. Excavators, dump trucks, hydraulic shears, cranes all being used.

I was Stationed at Ft. Stewart in Hinesville, GA. Love the area. Would love to go back someday. Still appreciate you for what you do Captain Andy.

This was fascinating. Hope you’re able to do a showing for those equipment operators at some point. I doubt they get to see much of their work from the drone’s vantage point. It really highlights their expertise and attention to detail in what they do.

Amazing skill by eds operators. Great to see this mammoth task unfolding. Thanks Andy.

Ed's cousin ❤ Thank you for this!

Hercules Powder Company became Hercules, Inc. in 1966. In western states, many abandoned mine exploration videos feature a box or two with their logo on it (blasting caps and explosives). PS — hope the community can benefit from this brownfield site.

Andy, the Dali is scheduled to leave tomorrow, Friday the 21st… hope you make it up here

I'm so behind with your channel. Been taking care of a friend with medical problems. Thanks for sharing, Andy. I think those heavy equipment operators are amazing. I remember that fire.

Lol, the memories of the Hercules growing up in the 50's & 60's rush back from my old brain cells! It was just always there & the seemingly never ending smoke billowing from that smokestack...the smells...mostly pretty bad and those ginormous mountains of never ending pine stumps and the trucks and railroad that brought them in... Do you remember the Starlight Drive-in that backed up on the north side of the plant and Shoney's restaurant & drive through on Glenn Ave? It was the place to be Friday & Saturday nights...lol...Brunswick was a different place back then Thanks so much for doing this for us, it's quite fascinating. More so, it's a thrill to see these videos of Brunswick on YouTube and your drone shots are just terrific...I can't thank you enough Andy !! Maybe we'll get a chance to meet one day...over at Marshside !?

Very clear footage. Man alot to clean up. Very interesting
-
MM, do you remember when there were mountains of pine stumps at the end of the causeway?
-
yep them cutting tools always seem to be pretty clumsy and awkward to use, but a good operator will show how easy and nimble they can be
-
19:14 that ole boy is pretty darn good
-
Thanks Andy. Just think of the Man Hours it took to build that place ..
-
Perhaps for these videos, you should refer to us as the "Minorcan Seabees" since it's on land construction/destruction...
