I hope your theory pans out, as it would be great to see Brady in NJ. (I am excited Tatar is back, and think/hope he picks up some of the slack when we need some goals when top guys may have an off night.) I don’t believe Fitz is done either, as I think he would announce that more clearly. (Unless I missed it.) We don’t know conversations behind closed doors that may have happened, or may be happening. LGD!!!

Nemec is going nowhere! He will be the most complete Devils defenseman out of the crop of youngens we currently have.

Weird that they traded for Kovacevic ... a regular on the Habs ... just to sit in the press box as a 7th D when you already have DeSimone. Unless there is another move coming! (I hope you're right, dude! )

i really don't want to lose Nemec, even for Brady.

One thing to factor in about missing a Top 6 Forward, 3 of our D are offensively gifted. We have a Dougie bomb again! Luke & Nemec can both SKATE and since they'll be playing less minutes this season they should both be FLYING. I'm sure their offensive game will grow under Keefe too. You can look at each line like there's an Offensive D and a Defensive D pairing. That's a luxury most teams don't have! They are still young and either one could go through a sophomore slump this season... But if they only get better we will be more than fine without making a blockbuster trade. Ottawa won't be trading their captain until they absolutely have to. By all means if they aren't in the playoff race, Ullmark refuses to sign an extension and they are forced to flip him at the trade deadline... That'll hurt. But Matthew didn't get out of Calgary until he was due for an extension and I believe it'll be the same for Brady. Plus Palat has a full no move clause. We have to hope we can trade him July 2025 to one of 10 teams he picks. Hopefully Keefe gets him going too!

Nemec, is a hard NO. I’m not for giving up a potential defensive beast, one who may end up being the finest defenseman to ever emerge from Europe. There are other deals that are jus5 as appealing. Nemec is an absolute pillar of New Jersey’s future.

Wow ACE!! You might be on to something, and I didn’t even think of that scenario. Just maybe that’s why we saw Nikita Gusev at developmental camp. HMMM…. I would love Brady Tkachuk paired with Jack Hughes and now we are talking about a possible CUP team. God I hope you’re right !!!
