Ketty Lester was born with the name Revoyda Frierson (1934) in Hope of Arkansas U.S.

in the early 1950s, she began performing under the name "Ketty Lester" in the city's Purple Onion club. She later toured Europe as support act on the Don & Phill Everly Brothers tour

“Love Letters” [1962] was recorded under the Era Records label. Which featured Lincoln Mayorga's (AKA Brooke Pemberton )sparse piano arrangement and Earl Cyril Palmer on drums
