CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Eduardo (Andrew Garfield) and his lawyers recount the story of how he was betrayed by Mark (Jesse Eisenberg).

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Director David Fincher (Fight Club, Seven) teams with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) to explore the meaning of success in the early 21st century from the perspectives of the technological innovators who revolutionized the way we all communicate. The year was 2003. As prohibitively expensive technology became affordable to the masses and the Internet made it easy to stay in touch with people who were halfway across the world, Harvard undergrad and computer programming wizard Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) launched a website with the potential to alter the very fabric of our society. At the time, Zuckerberg was just six years away from making his first million. But his hearty payday would come at a high price, because despite all of Zuckerberg's wealth and success, his personal life began to suffer as he became mired in legal disputes, and discovered that many of the 500 million people he had friended during his rise to the top were eager to see him fall. Chief among that growing list of detractors was Zuckerberg's former college friend Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield), whose generous financial contributions to Facebook served as the seed that helped the company to sprout. And some might argue that Zuckerberg's bold venture wouldn't have evolved into the cultural juggernaut that it ultimately became had Napster founder Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake) not spread the word about Facebook to the venture capitalists from Silicon Valley. Meanwhile, the Winklevoss twins (Armie Hammer and Josh Pence) engage Zuckerberg in a fierce courtroom battle for ownership of Facebook that left many suspecting the young entrepreneur might have let his greed eclipse his better judgment. The Social Network was based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich.

All these people saying that you shouldn't feel bad for Edwardo because he is still worth billions, it's not about that, it's the fact that he got backstabbed by his best friend
  • @noir853
Jesse Eisenberg was perfectly cast in this movie. He have that "i wanna punch him in the face" look all over him, and then he played the most disliked character in the movie. Well done
  • @AllenHanPR
By the tonality, when he said "He should be protected", the lawyers looked at each other and felt bad I think.
  • @CrazyMunky84
I never realized the sub text in this scene until now. Mark Zuckerburg had one real friend and gave it up for 500 million fake ones.
  • @blackrose7966
Andrew Garfield is such an incredible actor, it felt so real and genuine. which in a way it is, he absolutely killed it
  • "I love working with business majors" is the lawyer's way of saying "I love dealing with people who think they're smarter than they actually are"
  • This is such an awesome film. And its also ironic In that a social network meant to bring people together ultimately drove so many people apart.
  • @CatotheE
"Mark doesn't care about money and he needs to be protected." My heart, man. That was your best friend!
  • @Liaret
Eduardo still has his shares in Facebook, is worth a lot and is the richest person in Singapore, where he currently resides :)
  • The people on here saying, “But Eduardo didn’t contribute anything, only a lousy 9,000.” Are the same people that probably backstab their friends in the back because they only “gave so little”. Newsflash, giving a little is still more than the middle finger you’d get from others for asking. Be grateful, and take care of your friends.

Whats so fucked up is to see how Eduardo is still looking out for Mark, he says "He needs to be protected" to the lawyers and you can see they know he's getting screwed by Mark when they look at each other and then down. Mark was a POS.
  • I love how the lawyers look at each other like “it isn’t Mark that needs protection…”
  • @samychopraaa
That awkward moment for the lawyers at 0:46. Poor Eduardo didn't know he was being scammed.
  • @nitpicker9406
It takes incredible writing skills to make a story interesting when it is about a man suing his friend because he only recieved millions when he should have gotten more millions
  • This should be the role that Andrew Garfield should be remembered for, not Spiderman
  • @Bronnybronny
This movie is so good. I don’t think I have met on person who doesn’t like this movie. It seriously is a timeless film.

Stock ownership distribution Eduardo Saverin: 34.4% Mark Zuckerberg: 51% Dustin Moskovitz: 6.81% Sean Parker: 6.47% Peter Thiel: 7% Total: 105.68% Eduardo should've suspected something fishy right there.
  • @itzeduardo_
This is almost like the McDonald's story the original founders got screwed over by a guy who just wanted to grow a big company
  • @tovmusic
The film came out in the very beginning of the decade and ended up defining the decade.
