As an addict in recovery and a dad, I’d have to say how this film portrayed fatherhood was even more powerful than how it portrayed addiction. And that says a lot, since it absolutely nailed addiction.

I have a whole new respect for Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet as actors. They were amazing in this movie. As a parent who's gone through this helplessness and agony with their child, I wept, not only for my own child, but also for what David and Nic Sheff had to go through.
