Good glasses & sunglasses for your face shape | Justine Leconte

Published 2017-06-25
This video shows how to find the best glasses and sunglasses for your face shape among the 6 main face shapes, with visual examples.
It applies to glasses for women and glasses for men. It is a matter of face proportions.

This knowledge is not a "rule" that everyone should follow: it is the guidance based on which you can make your own informed decisions ;-)
Enjoy!

Thumbs up if you liked this video!

New videos: Wednesday 5pm & Sunday 12pm (Paris/Berlin time).

Take care!
Justine

  • Justine, recently I had a job interview with a major retailer of high-end sunglasses. In my interview I mentioned your video and what I learned from watching it. I walked out the interview with an offering for a managerial position: I start next week. I felt like I had to thank you because I'm sure what I mentioned made an impact during my interview. Alors, merci Justine! :)

Sorry this video took so long... but here it is! 😅 Also: we have crossed the 160,000 milestone today 🎉. I am impressed and humbled by the positive feedback & all the comments. THANKS EVERYONE!
  • Hi Justine, I always enjoy watching your videos, but this one bugged me! I have 5 years of experience as a stylist for glasses and there are some key points missing in my opinion! 1. When you go for an acetate (or plastic) frame it should ALWAYS fit your nose perfectly, otherwise it will slide down anyway. 2. The frames should NEVER touch your cheeks, because this will cause the lenses to fog up when you wear them. 3. Eyebrows should always be visible above the frames (except when you buy the huge designer sunglasses, of course). 4. The size of the front of the frame is defined by the position your eyes have; the eyes should always be in centre like this: [ 0 ], and not like this [0 ], because you will look silly and it will most likely cause a distorted view with your prescription. Only when these key points are correct you can consider the shape of the actual frame.

You explain things so well. I can take your suggestions for style & beauty to my wardrobe and instantly look much more put together. Fabulous! Thank you!

According to this, my ideal glasses shape for my face (diamond) are half-frames... which is interesting because I've been choosing half-frame glasses for at least the past 10 years! I've also done color analyses for my season and such (my best friend was a theatre costuming major and they did this in their fashion class) and I couldn't help but notice that my palette based on my season analysis was full of colors that I naturally gravitate towards when I buy clothes. I think it's super interesting how we can identify these thing subconsciously!

I love the "cat eye" glasses! And sunglasses in brown, diamond face and soft autumn. Thank you for your advice!

I have been binge watching your videos in the past day, and I want to thank you for the informative and educational videos you put out! As someone who's working to be more mindful of my life choices (fashion-wise, in this case), I appreciate what you do. Merci beaucoup! 💞

I couldn't keep my eyes of those nails... and the nail colour and the rings. I am in awe. Informative videos. Love from Kenya.
  • @lucybonomo2606
Your videos are incredible and I love that you are so genuine and open minded.
  • I always skipped this video thinking I didn't need glasses. Last week though, my husband convinced me to finally get an eye test because I can't read anything over 3m far from my face... And in fact I do need glasses. I already bought them, but I'm actually pretty proud of myself because I considered everything you mentioned without having watched the video! You've taught me well, Justine. Merci :)
  • @htarresnom
Because of my round face, most of my life I was afraid to wear 'the cool round sunnies'... until I realized I actually like how I look on them so, I decided to take the chance and I don't regret it! 😎✌️
  • Hi Justine, I just LOVE all your videos - even when its something that doesnt really apply to me, I watch them anyway just because you are so delightful, and such a positive and lovely addition to my day. I love all the amazing tips and you always make me smile. Thank you so much for your channel and Im so glad I came across it. Hugs <3
  • @flordelotus2184
Thank you, Justine! This video really helps on how to choose a pair of glasses! It's always a daunting task to do it, since we have a big assortment to choose from and sometimes it seems the vendor at the counter wants to "push" some pairs, despite if they look good or not on you.
  • Thank you , AGAIN! I wear glasses and often struggle to find frames that suit me. This was so helpful. I will watch it again and take copious notes. Justine, you are a gem! 👏👏
  • Thanks Justine for giving this video. I have glasses and it will help Me a lot

This was great and raised issues I've never thought of before. I'm new to glasses and having to compensate for them so I'm grateful for this vid.
