The British are renowned for their love of a good cup of tea, but in the last few years its popularity has been falling. This is a shame because a good strong cup of British tea is so refreshing. However, when it comes to making British tea properly, many establishments get it wrong. The water must be boiling when it is poured onto the tea, and the tea must be allowed to steep for 4-5 minutes.

Written recipe is here: www.keefcooks.com/how-to-make-tea/

And if you like a glass kettle, you could buy one from Amazon UK using this link, and they'll give me a nice shiny penny: amzn.to/2G4mkp9

You can replace milk with a vodka to get the perfect cup of Russian tea.

The temperature of the water used depends on the type of tea you’re using. You cannot use boiling water with green tea, but you can use it with black tea.

Yorkshire tea is actually grown in India and Africa. There was recently a humorous exchange between their twitter account and a slightly racist man who was quite shocked by the whole thing.

My American mom taught me to make tea, like this. Apparently her British grandfather passed on the proper way to make tea!

Thank you for sharing this...Being an American I found this helpful in my new love of tea and my new found DNA relation to England.
  • Fun fact: The Boston tea party was just an American attempt at making the east coast into a nice large pot of tea. You have to burn the ship in order to properly boil the ocean water.

I found myself nodding all the way through this video. That's a reet posh kettle Keef, excellent to demonstrate the importance of using boiling water. The tea cosy is sublime!
  • In Indonesia we usually drink tea with only sugar or less sugar and with milk is usually for children(in here)

My tea cozies only work for about a few minutes longer, but never two hours! That's so cool. I'll have to knit one. I sewed mine

"Some naughty stuff" Keef this is my favourite video I've ever watched

My friends mother in the USA had tea cozies, which isn’t common here. I thought that they made the pot look like old lady hats. She hand steeped tea. The one that Mrs Keef Cooks is cute.

This is great thank you for the video. I am finding myself drink more and more tea these days. Definitely have to try it your way. I love the tea cozy very cute😊

I have the same teapot but in black. I prefer a strong builders brew in the morning.
  • My kettle takes about a minute or so to come to a boil. It's electric, a little blue one I bought for $10. That's a lovely one you have.
