  • It's incredible how they could build things like that back then, when we are so much more advanced now. The engineering was quite awesome in those times, for what they had.

Still find it hard to believe they could do this stuff, the engineering, at the beginning of the previous century. Awesome project.....

You have to admire the shear scale of this project, These huge engineering feats were unheard of at that time, I take my hat off to all concerned with this great endeavour .from the ship builders, the planners , the draughtsmen , the engineers, and the carpenters, They all played their part in the Titanic Legend. not forgetting the Olympic of course, She had a long life. So in effect, the whole H & W shipyard was a great success !!

Titanic would have been scrapped  anyway , like others  sisterships of her class , 10 or 20 years later .Her dramatic sinking saved her from this infamy , the highest price to become  a legend .

From a shipyard with all the main players, to a legend that encapsulates everyone who had the dream from the very start.what an effort by all those workers, designers ,financiers, passengers, crew, and most of all the legend that is titanic, the ship that cannot die.

The Titanic was touted as the largest, safest and fastest ship to be build in its day. Mistakes were made and the ones that bragged about it had to eat crow. I send my condolences to the families that lost members. Loved the slideshow keep them coming.

I am a qualified engineer and the pics are very good.I have worked in heavy engineering and it was just like that even 40 years ago and there were pics of olden times. That lathe must be the biggest I have seen so far. Truly impressive what they could do in 1910 or so Allister

Amazing music, incredible photography, breathtaking scenery... Great video, my friend. I've always been fascinated by the RMS Titanic, like many other people, and I always feel like crying when watching a clip like this, there's so much emotion and so much pain, into thinking that they worked so hard and in a few hours, it was all at the bottom of the ocean, and tragically, with hundreds of people as well... RIP to all that died making this ship and to the ones ending with the ship...

I wonder if the horses that helped build her felt a sense of accomplishment and pride too , they must have known they were part of something big , having to walk through all that mess and noise, and the towering structures.  Just a thought I had :)

The way it looked and the things in it made it a luxury of the sea. I think it can compete with the latest ships of today.
